Looking to purchase a helmet for this season's track events. Don't mind buying used as there are a lot of medication available for head lice. And I can feed them to the goldfish as necessary.

Anyhoo, is there any problems buying a used helmet? IIRC, motorcycle helmets were designed for only one impact and sometimes you really can't tell if its been dropped and internally cracked... true?

Go new bud, there's a lot of nice helmets out there, and you're not saving as much as you think you might. If you're gonna go used, try your luck with ebay.

Protect that mighty noggin WUD.

That's where I go to, and they have decent prices. I don't know if they've had their spring/summer sale but it's one to look out for. There's actually a No-Tax tent sale on until the 29th of this month.

thx gents.

i even tried to reconcile my cheapness with the fact that it'll be used in the car... but i think i will have to follow the good advice and buy a new one...

If your car is caged or you will be spending a lot of time in a caged car, definitely go with an SA helmet.

If not, you can get away with an M helmet.

Also, make sure you keep an eye on the Snell dates.

Most sanctioning bodies require use of a helmet less than 10 yrs old.

For example:

Snell 1995 helmets are already "expired" as of 2005.
Snell 2000 helmets "expire" in 2010.
Snell 2005 helmets "expire" in 2015.

So just know that the reason the 2000 helmet is way cheaper than a 2005 helmet is because it's not as new and also useless in 3 yrs.

Lastly, CSC Racing (http://www.cscracing.com/) in Newmarket is a great place to pick up a helmet for motorsports as they know their product and can be very informative. Also, they are a key sponsor in many different series' in Ontario. :)

I think CSC is going to be a lot easier to get to for me than Royal...

Thx gents.

Looks like it's on wrong.

I don't think the helmet would do her any good, since she's already messed up to begin with. lol

go to a store, try them on, then look on ebay...i know that's a bitch move, but you'll be laughing when you saved $300.

I currently have 5 motorcycle helmets and have owned about 8 or 9 in the past 7 yrs. trust me.
