At least they moved the gas cap to the other side. I saw some pics of the interior...at least that doesn't look THAT similar to the 3. Some of it is quite nice actually.
Maybe they'll come out with the hatchback version soon :D

Of course it does. This is becoming a bigger and bigger issue as China joins the global economy.
In China, copyright laws don't mean squat, so they can do this with impunity.
That's all well and good so long as they can't export their stuff and others aren't importing it.
Things are changing now though, and this stuff just isn't gonna fly if they want to be a global player. It's interesting watching the whole scene develop.

I remember reading that at one detroit Autoshow where some chinese companies were showcasing their cars, they were so ill-prepared that the console and electronic features such as dvd player, audio, everything that you would expect in a dash wasn't there. They had to use photo copies of pictures of what it would look like and taped them to places.

I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss them though. It's funny to hear about this sort of thing now, but with their cheap labour it probably won't be long before they're up to speed and providing real competition.
Heck, GM and others are now looking to China for cheap manufacturing of whole cars.
That's one of the problems with these knock-offs. Legitimate companies don't want the Chinese car makers to make a ton of money at their expense and then have the resources to become a global player.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...few, I thought it was the new Mazda 3. Man their emblem is close to Mazda. Man that car is nearly a 3!!!
I'm sure they'll get a few sales...to the blind!!

Man, it even has Mazdas 5-point grille. Although it is more pronounced than what Mazda is doing now.

I'm sure it will cost half of what a Mazda3 would in China... if Mazda even sells the 3 in China so plenty of people will buy them.
What do they care whether it's real or not? 10 years ago, they were happy to have a horse.
I never even noticed that the font for the 3 was the same as mazda uses.

Looks more Mazda6 then Mazda3 IMO. There is a hatch version of this, and it looks like the new WRX.

Haima is a Mazda venture company in China... the cars are cheap continuation of older mazda models. The main stuff are still Mazda, but the smaller stuff are made in china to cut costs and fit the chinese market more.
