I have been thinking about getting a weighted shift knob. I have been looking at the TWM Dessert Eagle, which cost 110 + tax + shipping USD. Pretty much it will cost $145 CAD in total. You guys think it's worth it? Any alternatives out there that you guys recommend?

I gotta say yes there are cheaper alternatives, that can get the job done, yet in my case for my Titanium shift knob, I spent > $120 and it was not weighted..
but what I recommend is:
Skunk2 Weighted Shift knob

i've got a brand new skunk2 10th anniversary knob....
its really really heavy...i think someone weighed it at about 434 grams...
go to mazda3forums and you'll see how many ppl rave about it....
i bought 2 knobs at the same time, i decided to go with the leather wrapped one...so i'm not gonna use the skunk2, still in its packaging, never used.
$90.

Probably not going to get one now, cause it seems to me that aftermarket shiftknobs are more for short shifters. Most aftermarket knobs will make our stock shifter even higher.

that doesn't really make sense. by changing your knob it doesn't make it higher, unless the knob you're putting on is huge.

Lots of aftermarket knobs are taller than stock ones. When I put a MOMO knob on my Sunfire, it was like I was driving an 18-wheeler or something. It was about an inch taller.
I ended up cutting down my stock stick by about the same amount just to make it normal height again.

i guess it depends on how much it can be threaded in...

IMHO anyone who spends anywhere near $145 for a knob, is a KNOB....total waste of money better spent on other mods.

This is the one from "RacingLab.com". Made from stainless steel featuring a gun-metal finish. Each shift knob is custom-weighted to 440 grams. US$54.95. ($43.23 @ ebay).

I ordered the weighted TWM Type R knob, not sure what the weight is but heavy enough that not alot of force is needed in shifting.

What advantage does a knob like these have? I was gonna get a Sparco one but it was only for looks!

weighted shift knobs gives a different shifting feel. Most people I know like it.

The only 2 knobs i have actually liked were the Type-R and the Sjunk2 but i cant justify spending the money for them either. I have the short-shifter from TWM and would love a weighted knob, but i will just use the stock one for now.
