I hate tax time. Just finished. Last day - par for the course for me!!!
Although I dread doing taxes, it's much easier with the tax software. And it is a great relief when you actually press the "submit" button.

LOL - didn't know what you were F U ing until I saw it as "CRA" verses "Cra"
But for all you procrastinators who didn't make the midnight deadline for paper filing you have till Thursday to get your shit together and efile. As of this afternoon the deadline has been pushed to Thursday at midnight now due to the backlog. Happens every year.
If you owe it means you've made it in life.

My wife does my taxes, and those of a bunch of other people, so of course mine are always the last ones done.
Hopefully soon... :chuckle

Yah, love Quicktax. Every year, the product is getting better and better and the tax return prep time gets shorter and shorter. Love it (to the extent someone can actually love doing taxes...).

I used to get my bro to do our taxes (he's a CA) but even he said that with the current crop of great software like Quicktax on the market we could easily do it ourselves. It's now been three years and I can't believe how straightforward it is.
The CRA still sucks donkey balls though.

Doing it yourself is easy. Having an accountant do it though can get you more money. They'll think of all the deductions you had no idea you could claim, if there are any.

Don't be pissed at the CRA, save it for our socialist leaning elected officials that keep adding/increasing taxes with Miller being the biggest idiot. We'll soon be what France has been for the last 20 plus years and whom just yesterday voted they're way out of it...hopefully for their sake.
As for refunds, you should be happy if you have to pay nothing or ideally a little bit. Getting a refund is not a great thing, it actually sucks because you just got back your own money that the gov had in their hands interest free. If you paid nothing or something then you were deducted properly or in your own favor and could have, at worst spent the money on mods or better, save it or even better, invest it.
Just my 2 cents...

Well... if you're being deducted properly but made some charitable donations or RSP contributions, then you'd expect a refund, right?
I'd much rather have the deductions go wrong such that I get a bit back than have them go wrong such that I end up having to cut a cheque when I didn't expect to.

I say withhold all "favours" from your wife until she completes and files your return..... that way you get what you want.
I filed my wifes in March:)
