I thought I would start a cell phone and plan thread just to see what other members have, as there seems to be many cell buffs on this board.

For Rogers Cell phone users: Have you guys ever tried calling the rogers retention # ? (*611 on phone, then say "cancel my phone"). It will direct you to a rogers rep where you can "renegotiate" your plan. I know there is a thread already on RFD for this, but to be honest, I think many of the people that post up there are full of SH!T and make up many stories.

Review: Heat sensitive buttons take getting used to, no expandable memory and speakerphone, Camera is nothing compared to SE phones, Interface is looks nice and is easy to use. Never dropped a call but have received "Call congestion" a number of times. I give it a 7.5/10

That's exactly the thing i got. however I was using this plan which had a call display "trial" that's been going on for over 4 years now. So at the beginning of next month I'm switching over to the EPP plan, i want to see if that trial will move over also or if I'll have to buy one of the cheap spark plans.

I have the same plan as EvilEric.. also incl is Spark 10 free for 1 year.. that came with the package.. so caller ID is incl.. the guy that helped me was really nice.. we didn't even know Spark 10 was on promo.. he just scrolled down the long list of stuff (with me standing over his shoulder) looking at what I could get.. then he saw it cuz it was in a red font color..

oh, and caller ID is $6/month.. or u can get it as part of a package with Spark 7 for $7/month.. I personally don't need the Spark 7 so I'd probably just stick with the $6/month and save that $1/month and put it right in the bank.. =P

and I signed up for a 3 year contract and got the Samsung A720 free.. it was on promo.. normally it's a $50 phone after a 3 yr contract..

Can you state whether you are by the second or by the minute on your plans?

For rogers its near impossible to get billing by the second on a personal plan (or its very costly). Most corporate plans include it

PEBL sucks, its basically a normal V3 with only 5mb storage. Only thing i bought it cause its quad band, good reception, good battery life, and its WHITE!
02 XDA is amazing good reception with good battery life and Wifi. Its also GPS ready with a bluetooth adapter. Loud speakers and expandable storage up to 4 gigs. I can also get free upgrade to windows mobile 6 and any other maps in the world for free.

Its 2 totally different phones. That case won't fit your samsung and it'll only fit the 8800 series phones. and i believe thats a $100-$150 case

I have City Fido as well but since I got my work cell I hardly use my personal cell... everything is forwarded to my work cell.

I was looking into selling the plan but you cannot transfer it to someone anymore.

right now im using a samsung d807x which i had allready all i can say about this phone is that its nice to use, looks cool and has a nice sized screen. when i signed up for a plan they offered me a free phone. none of the phones were as good or better than mine. so the guy at the boooth offered me a 1 week old palm treo and accessories worth $800. granted it was a bell phone but i couldnt refuse the offer. i figured i could sell the phone for some good coin but my concence got the better of me and i gave it to my gf replacing her stupid razr.

I think the LG menu looks the best

unless you get a really high end nokia phone
