Today I washed, waxed and polished my car and took pics during it.

I used Simoniz Car Wash and Wax to clean the car; Meguiars NXT Wax to wax; and Turtle Wax Ice Liquid Polish to polish.

I have to say that Meguiars NXT Wax impressed me the most.

A quick question about waxing, I added more wax to the spots where I noticed the most scratches, is that alright to do?

After initial wash:

After wax was applied:

After wipping down wax:

And after polish:

The turtle wax ice liquid polish was more than a pain than anything, it did make the colour of my car a little darker, but in order to wipe it down evenly took too much time for the result it gave.

A pic of my ass:

Car looks amazing! I agree the NXT wax has always left a flawless finish afterwards. Nice pics.

Looks great!

Did you find the NXT wax was good at removing the light scratches (swirls) ?

I use TW ICE myself and feel it gives a great shine but doesn't do much in the way of removing the light swirls.

This is my first time using it and I did notice that the swirls are gone, but I have millions of light scratches that are still visible (at least I still notice them).

Exactly! What's a long weekend without inebration? :chuckle

I recommend Meguiars Scratch X.

Meguiars also has a synthetic sealant that they sell under their Glaze brand... It's more for professional detailers who detail for a living. Never tried this particular product, but I'd like to. It's quite good at removing fine scratches and swirls.

Nice work!

And no... you can't really apply too much wax anywhere. It all just evens out when you buff it off.

I spend 4 hours vacuuming, cleaning, washing my car this weekend. I take a look at the car while at work, it's already dusty, brakes dusts all over, etc etc.
I guess it's one of those perks having a white car. :chuckle

Which one? Is it appliable by hand?

Can be applied by hand, removed by machine, which is typically how I like to work with wax when I am detailing a car.
