sens suck.. i know .. leafs suck too.. i agree.. anyway.. go ducks go.. :)

i've been too busy to follow the playoffs but the finals are here and the first period was quite entertaining.. ducks came out hitting..

that first penalty was garbage.. high stick my ass.. aaanyway.. coaches corner is on and it's 1:1.. emery looked shakey on many of the plays especially when playing the puck..

discuss :)

the sens goal, O'Donnell should have just hit the puck with his hand instead of trying to bat it out of the air and Redden should have been able to clear the puck (though it was good forechecking)..Sens a bit back on their heels during the last half of the period....but hopefully its a good series

For the love of God, please don't let the Sens win the cup.

There is plenty of logic to support this:

1. I'm a loyal Leafs fan
2. If the leafs did make the playoffs they would have beaten the Sens (come on, we all know it is true)
3. Chris Neil is a goon
4. Spezza is a girly man
5. Heatley is a criminal
6. The look on Muckler's face when losing.....priceless

Go Ducks!

yeah he so should have knocked it out with a glove.. worse that could have happened was a glove pass and a faceoff in their zone.. bah

I am a proud Canadian too, but as a loyal Leafs fan it would be very very wrong to support the A) Habs and/or B) Sens

'nucks, flamers and oilers are okay to support once Leafs season is over.

if they keep getting in penalty trouble like tonight.. it'll be hard.. but otherwise it seems like it's smooth sailing.. lets see what ottawa has to bring for the next game or the first one at the corel center..

Sundin taught Alfredson everything he knows about the game and if any Swede deserves to win the cup it's Sundin. Especially since he has stayed in TO for so long and put up with the Leafs media and fans.

I was just gonna say the same thing...

If the sens win (and this is a real shock) they will be the FIRST team with a non-North American born captain to ever win the cup.

WW, I think you should root for the sens to keep that streak going! I guess im just too die-hard a leafs fan, and having the sens win would be a huge kick in the ass... the only reason they would win is because the leafs werent there to knock them out :bang

anwyay.. wasn't that al***sson who had the giveaway that lead to paulhsson's goal.. and what a nice screened shot it was.. inside the post .. :bana

so i missed the first two periods due to my own hockey game but 16 shots the entire game.. PATHETIC!!! while ducks mangaed a respectable 31..

in the third (aside from the last 2 min where sens were sooo desperate) the ducks dominated.. forechecking, checking and shooting.. all in favour of the ducks.. i assume that's how the rest of the game looked like anyway..

Watching todays game, it looked like the sens were really missing Chara.

Physically Anaheim basically had their way with the sens. The sens couldnt even land a clean hit - the only time they were even touching Ducks players is when they were hitting them from behind. All the while, the sens couldnt really even get the puck into the Anaheim zone. The Sens looked like they had the jitters out there, and it put a smile on my face :chuckle

plusvolume
06-03-2007, 07:41 PM
speaking of the Pronger suspension...

it was a reaction type of body check he was attempting.....and the guy from the Sens just happened to keep his head low and made contact with the elbow...

in all fairness there were many more hits during the game that could be considered way worse and more dangerous.

Caz
06-04-2007, 09:54 AM
When did they start to allow kicking the puck in the net? There is no way that should have been a goal after they disallowed Crosby's earlier in the playoffs. I call Conspiracy!

Wild Weasel
06-04-2007, 10:10 AM
After all the replays, I was pretty convinced it was just a redirect rather than a kick.

I was cheering when I saw the ref waving off the goal, but sadly, I think they made the right call in the end.

As for Pronger... I think it will help rally the team. They didn't suffer for it against Detroit!

Go Ducks!

Caz
06-04-2007, 10:23 AM
I don't think there was enough evidence to overturn the call on the ice as he appeared to start to move his foot just before the puck got there and then he followed thru after the puck made contact with his skate. They said they used the full speed replay to determine if it was kicking or not, if that is the call then it should be the on ice ref's call as he was right there.

Wild Weasel
06-04-2007, 10:30 AM
Well... I totally understand the ref calling it off and going to replay. On replay though, I though the kick came well after the puck bounced off the blade. It was a redirect, though it may well have been intended to be a kick. He was just too slow. :chuckle

Caz
06-04-2007, 10:40 AM
The fact that Alfie was the most surprised guy in the building that the goal was allowed, should indicate that he intended to kick it in.

the game has been so back and forth.. ottawa came out smoking in the first while anaheim was really lethargic and they were rewarded..

anaheim played their game in the second while ottawa was sleeping.. emery made a few key saves there as well

it's funny how the crowd goes SILENT when anaheim scores.. heh..

the third features a nice mix of hitting from both sides although there's a lot of sloppy play

getzlaf has some soft hands.. i really like the way he handles the puck and sets up plays..

alfredsson is a *****.. wtf is up with that slapshot into niedermyer at the end of second period?!?!?!? he had the entire rink open but aimed right at him..

3:2 anaheim with 10 min to go in 3rd.. go ducks!!!

From Pronger switching teams when he was so close last year and Selanne having a very impressive career without a cup. I give HUGE props to Giguere as there was no doubt they wouldn't have made it that far without him. He was phenomenal. Always nice (as a Leafs fan) to see Ottawa lose!
