Whats the difference setting up DS2 vs. HID for your headlights? Which one is a bang for your buck?

D2S is just a different type of bulbs... If you get the Mazda 3 with OEM HID, then you'll get the different headlight capsule which uses D2S bulbs.
Otherwise, you'll need to purchase a H7 bulb.

had you read the link in the sticky just a few posts above yours (http://torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=10086), you wouldn't be asking n00b questions.. :bang
seriously.. :gg next time!!!!
i suggest you read it so you don't repeat your questions.. and to give you a QUICK summary
D2S is use for projector housings.. D2R, for reflector housings.. we have projectors so the OEM Xenon/HID headlights would take the D2S bulbs...
if you do not have OEM HIDs then you need to get a REBASED HID bulb, meaning it's an HID bulb that uses a custom base to fit the H7 (low beam) or H11 (fogs) socket..
