Picked up my baby tonight and just wanted to throw some kudos to my sales guy as well as the dealership.

I went to see Rhana in March about a new Mazda 3 GT Sport. I'm not sure if it is just him or the whole dealership (think it might be whole dealership) uses "carcost canada" which is an independent organization/company that researches the actual invoice cost of cars to dealers and then compares it with dealer MSRP.

Anyway, what Rhana did was show me the difference between the two and cut it down the middle, half for him half for me. Haggling took like 30 seconds. Maybe I was had, but it really didn't feel like it. We were perfect until I mentioned the trade in, he said great. Then he told me what he could give me for my 2001 Saturn SC2 Coupe and I told him that suddenly I felt like I had dropped my soap in a prison shower room. He didn't try and pressure me or fiddle, he just said that was the best he could do and that if I wanted more the best idea was to try and sell it privately and then come back and we could work it out without the trade.

It took a couple months to sell, but during that time Rhana emailed me like clockwork, about once a week, just a one liner asking how things were going. The guy never forgot. I finally got back to him about two weeks ago and we hammered out a deal again, well actually went back to the old one, sans trade in, totally painless. I just picked it up tonight, and he actually took about 20-30 minutes to sit in the car with me and show me the finer points, even though he had cheque in hand. All in all, I get a great vibe. He is totally low pressure, and really nice, I highly reccomend him. In the couple months since I met him, he has since won Mazda Ontario Salesman of the year award or some such. Anyway, it is fairly prestigious but he just smiles and sort of plays it down a bit. The Biz also works at that dealership and is also cool. Rhana handed me over to him to dot the i's and cross the T's and he directed me here, for which I am ever so grateful. Anyway, just wanted to tell you folks that in the world of really scarey horror stories of buying cars, these two guys seem really nice, an oasis in a world of snakes who just want your cash and nothin else.

Cheers,

JP

P.S. Sorry for the long post.
