well since the canadian dollar is pretty much on par, you probably aren't saving a ton. but sure, why not.

if you are canadian you only need a passport to get into the states when travelling by air. I crossed the border 2 months ago with only my license and no problems.

as I stated above, you only need a passport when flying into the states from Canada. When travelling by ground your birth certificate and licence will work untill 2009.

Hit up Military Road in City of Niagara Falls. A lot of people think its Buffalo but its not
Its where all the outlets are (Foot Locker, Coach, Guess, Aeropostale, Adidas, Old Navy, Gap...) lots of crazy deals

There is not much good deals at Walden its just a nice mall with Cheesecake Factory
The deals are on Military Road
but the prices are still cheaper than what you'd find in a Canadian Mall and there is a lot of stuff you wouldnt find in Canada (ie. Charlotte Rousse and Forever21 stores)

Chiming in late, but you don't need a passport. Just valid ID (licence+birth certificate).
I would suggest taking the tags off and wearing a few of the articles of clothing back that are on the same bill. Other stuff, you are pretty much out of luck if they want to tax you on it. I have claimed $120 before and I was only over for a couple of hours and they let me go without any problems. Then again they checked me for only $50 once. It will all depend on the person at the booth on the way back and the mood they are in.

Just tell them the truth
As long as you dont spend an insane amount of money they the border guards have been really good to me
I think their main concern is alcohol and cigarettes
But usually I spend about $100+ on clothes and maybe $30 on groceries
They can go through my stuff and find $5 Aeropostale shirts its still a good deal LOL
And milk and cottage cheese...
Dont be obvious... layering 4 shirts in the summer etc.
If you're gonna put some stuff on put it on seperate bills even if you are spending a lot of $$$ in that one store..

+1 agree with MK.
I've had a few bad experiences at the US borders so I don't mess around.
Maybe small things (stuff that the average person would carry around anyways) you can just take the tag off and put it in your bag but for other obvious stuff...don't risk it for a biscuit.

Or like make up for the ladies
Put it on seperate bills at Target or whatever and take off all the packaging and shove it in your purse

I want to buy a new lens for my camera. It's approx. $1,800.00 here vs. approx. $1,350.00 in USA. The store I got that price from is in NY city and that's too far. Anyone know a camera store in Buffalo (near the border)?
I've checked store directory listings at Walden Galleria & Boulevard Mall and couldn't find a store that would carry this item.

From the Canon USA website
searched dealers around Zip 14201

Aren't they more strict on the border nowadays?

Brilliant. I wouldn't want to get it from an unauthorized supplier anyway so that's a good way of weeding them out. Thanks.
