Pedal Set from http://www.xenonexpert.com/mazda_pedals.html (Installed)
Clear bra+tints (20%) (Installed by FX Auto)
Remove door moldings (Done)

Mods coming within the month:

Fujita F5 CAI (From SSG)

Powder Coat RX-8 Wheels hypersilver (similar to BMW M3 alloys from www.carcone.com)
TWM Shortshifter
Rear Lip Spoiler
G2 Caliper Paint Kit

Mazda 3 matte silver door sills
LED 3rd Brake Light

Here are the pictures. The red is really nice! I thought I would be disappointed because its non-metallic unlike the Velocity Red, but this red is incredible. It's just as bright in real life as it is in these pics.

Here are some pics of the car with the door moldings off, 20% tint all around + Clear bra (both done at FX Auto)

Some more pics I just took in the evening. How ghetto am I? I had to use a ladder as my tripod :)

Thanks dude :) I'm a little bummed out about the '07 grill. I don't understand why they made it one piece with the bumper. That sucks for me...I really wanted to change the grill. :(

Wait a minute... I thought all the '07 had the grill tied to the hood.

Is it different for the hatch and sedan?!?

Very nice colour though, catchy.

Nope..definitely not the GT '07 Sedan. It's not stuck to the hood..but it's stuck to the bumper..So I think the only way to replace is it to cut it, or replace the bumper..not sure.

Nice pics...velocity red is nicer in person

On the GT sedan the grille is part of the bumper.
On the GT hatch the grille is attached to the hood and is removable.

Will do! Is the G2 Caliper Paint Kit good? I only see G2 and Dupli-Color caliper paint kits. I'm gearing towards G2 since it's available at a lot of places like www.tirerack.com

Hehe ya..but there's this thing called money that just happened to run out this month :)

I'll get them powdercoated probably next year..unless $930 lands on my lap somehow.

hey nice setup, those pedals you got, what does the foot reset screw into? right through the floor board?

Yep..that was the easiest piece to install. My recommendation for the pedal install is to start from the right and work your way left. It took me a couple of hours just to install the frickin things. Drilling through the metal was not as easy as I thought.

Just updating with a couple of new pics of my newly painted RX-8 wheels. I'm extremely happy for how they turned out. I didn't want them to be too dark like gunmetal. I was mainly looking for a couple of shades darker than stock to give it that shinka/hypersilver look.

I had them painted at Carcone's in Aurora. The gentleman there was extremely patient and nice enough to take me around their shop and show me all different kinds of wheels and colours. They definitely aren't the cheapest but because they are literally 10 minutes from my house, the convenience was too good to forgo.

Let me know what you think.

Hey Slade,

I don't want to seem like an advocate for the RX-8 wheels, but they suit the car perfectly in my opinion, even more so than the RX-8 itself. It's a classic design, clean and simple.

I really looked for alternative wheels that would look good on a True Red, and I found maybe 1 or 2 such as the Tenzo R Type-M Black with red lip. But I kept coming back to the RX-8's because they just looked stock, and that's sort of the clean look I'm going for.

No aftermarket wheel is better looking than the RX8s :)

Crimson
05-12-2008, 10:25 PM
how much it cost?

Total with tax was $659.

$125 per wheel (Sandblasted + powdercoat)
$20 per wheel (dismount/balance tires)
$3 (some sort of environmental clean-up fee)

Like I said, it's not the cheapest place, but they were so close to me that I couldn't say no. I was originally going to go to Quy's Powdercoating in Brampton but I found Carcone's close by and opted for them instead.

Yep! I totally thought about it, but I couldn't find any wheels that I was happy with. Who would've thought that stock wheels would get so many heads turned.

Go figure. :)

Crimson: Your car is looking frickin' amazing. Good job.

Thanks Lars :)

Any suggestions on what else I can do on the outside? I'm planning to upgrade the audio next summer but as far as outside is concerned, maybe a nice exhaust system and some sway bars and stuff.

Not sure...what do you think?
