So I went to see Jimmy at Street Performance yesterday to get my Eibach springs installed. Jimmy did a great job for a good price and was done in less then an hour. I`m very happy I lowered my car. It was worth every penny.

Here are before and after pictures.

Looks really nice dropped. RX8 rims finish it off nicely!

Looks real nice, I think you'll grow to love them more once they've settled.

Those RX-8 rims looks really good in your car.

Your background looks familiar. Where did you do the photoshoot?

It was around Hwy 10 and Old School road, North Brampton/Caledon area.

I bought the rims from Texas2lo.

Its bouncier, wayyy stiffer in corners than stock... WAY flatter.

on the 401 East between avenue and markham rd, it feels like you are driving a boat on choppy water... but you get useto it after a week.

Is that a good thing? lol

at first, the whole "pogoing" aspect of the new suspension kinda bugged me, but that was only because i was paying attention to it too much, after a week it became the norm and i don't even notice it..

for example, my girlfriend didnt even notice i lowered it until I told her a week later.

it all depends on how anal you are with changes on your car.

I dont really notice a big difference cause I dont pay attention to it. But then again I have not been on the highway yet with the new springs.

The car looks ten times better though and I`m loving it.

^ so what mod did you do to your car that is unique? copycat of what?

everybody's having a eibach prokit? its readily available in the market, so how can you make your car unique on this one???

Honestly now? besides the forums, how many 3's do you see dropped? It's a major handling upgrade and a very nice asthetic upgrade as well.
If you see mrs I have 3 kids in a non tinted completely stock 3 having a blast, it's much different than some 3 with tint, a lowering kit, rims, or whatever.

The thing I don't get is so many 3 drivers lowering their cars, and rocking rx8 rims.

I dropped it to look nice, but now i like the way it handles better than how it looks.

I've had mine dropped since .. late March? And I love the handling in comparison. Definately not bouncier. less bouncy as the springs are stiffer.

I got mine cause EDF told me to.

:gone

if you guys wana complain about too many people having the same mods as you, just convince SSG to stop doin GB's.

actually i love the bouncing on highway. i can feel the road

EvilDeadFan

What bouncing?? They're stiffer springs and don't bounce hardly as much. More like a sudden bump, but it's so tight and handles so much better.

I think he is referring to pogoing if you run on the stock shocks.

I only noticed this for a week, then it either stopped happening, or i just stopped paying attention.

on the 401, with a totally stock suspension you bounce all over the place. So the eibachs only help keep it stiffer!

i was wondering if u need camper kit or do u have to change the shock too? once u installed the spring?

Not with the Prokit.

MattC

you CAN change the shocks, infact its probably recommended, as the stock shocks weren't meant to run with springs with the specs that the Eibach's have.

How much did the kit drop your car by? And how much did you pay for the rx8 rims?

Has anyone here that's dropped their car have any grinding/pinging or thumping sound coming from the suspension after you go over a bump/pothole? Also when you make a turn at slow speeds (10-15 km/Hr) do you notice any sound? I have other cars that are lowered and never have this issue before. Dealer says it needs to settle, found nothing wrong.

I have no issues with noise. How long have you had your springs on?

MattC
07-11-2007, 10:07 AM
the only noise I hear when i drive is my tires gripping the road...
and yes, I have RSA's!

oh and my ticking throttle

I've had the springs on for about 2 weeks now.

MattC

who installed them for you?

I recall Jimmy having to go through a big deal to install the front ones... It is possible they didnt install them properly.

I had mine installed at scarborough mazda. I had it in already to have it checked out, but they said it needed to settle. I'll just wait abit more and see what happens.

I dunno, mine were perfect from minute 1, the actual ride settled after around 2 weeks, but there was never any sound diff
