anybody replace that bulb yet? its a common modification on the protege's, just the swapping of a bulb, i would like to change mine.
ANybody know the bulb size...FLippy? anybody change it yet?

sorry, just realized that it doesn't answer to your question...poor me ESL...

from online manual, under IGNITION KEY ILLUMINATION BULB REMOVAL/INSTALLATION:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the column cover. (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3. Remove the ignition key illumination bulb.

4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Do you by any chance have a link to the protege installation? Just curious what they replaced it with and what it looked like after...Seems like a fairly useless mod given the trouble you'd have to go to for the install.

My source is Rdk87 from M3F. He's already replaced it, its a #74.

But, out of ALL the other things you could be doing to it? This would definitely be at the bottom of the list.

No prob, there is another post where he took out the red piece all together to fit a larger LED replacement for super bright blue goodness.
