Hey guys,

I was working on installing my angel eyes and came across a few problems.

1st. I did NOT put back the capsule lid on the highbeams cuz both the wires were going thru it so I couldnt close the lid.

2nd. My right angel eyes doesnt work (both of them), I tried switching the Ballast, still same problem........

Need help from u guys! Thanks!

What exactly do you mean when you say "capsule lid"? You are supposed to make two small cutouts on the black plastic layer before installing the chrome pieces. Then you remove the rubber gasket and unscrew the bulb mount (small piece of metal when you view the capsule from the back). That way you can run the wire out of the light capsule.

Also, did you test everything before installation? I've heard stories that some are DOA.

You might wanna post some pics, so that members can see what clearly happened.

Hopefully everything will be OK!

This is the capsule for the LOWBEAM (thanks weatherb), i didnt close up cuz the wires was using that hole...

Few mistakes i've made......
1. did not test the eyes
2. did not poke a hole where weatherb said to poke

Since both of them do not work, I suspect the problem is the ballast. Try swapping the ballast from the working side to the other side and re-test.

You should be able to get that cap on with a bit of force. Just spread the wire out (meaning they should not be overlapping). P.S. That cap is for the LOW-BEAM. The high-beam does not have a cap, but rather a rubber gasket.

Where did you get the angel eyes from? You should be able to get a replacement.

This gives you a good excuse to make the necessary cutouts when you re-install them.

Thanks guys! I just txt msg him & email, hope he responds quickly cuz the chrome rim of the headlights looks ugly now due to the silicone.

Strange, one of the right one works (the whole circle one) when I took it off the chrome and tested it, but when I put everything back in....it doesnt work :bang. Jeez this is getting really frustrating since i already took the headlights apart 3times :bang...plus when I put the headlights back in pieces there seem to be gaps from the lowbeam....:bang

$100 up for grabs if someone can fix my angel eyes and headlights, mind u there is already some minor bruises on the headlights itself. :blush

Try Lockdown Bro.

Lockdown will charge you $200 to do the work. Perhaps a little less if you get it there with the bumper already removed. LOL

I think the problem is that you did not make the cutouts for the wires and are putting too much pressure on them?

Just a thought, for the winter I disconnect my angels entirely, I have heard that when they power up in low temperature it affects their overall life span... any thoughts?

If I remember correctly, they an be safely operated until about -50degrees.

I personally wouldn't be too worried about a decrease in life. You can say the same for your halogen or Xenon bulbs no?

Jeff, I did some research and this is all I could find about cold weather...

"[CCFL's] biggest drawbacks are: cold weather will reduce the light output by as much as 60%, they require an inverter to generate the 350VAC please note that the inverters do not function well at low temperatures, the light intensity cannot be varied (it is either on or off), and vibration can reduce the life expectancy of up to 50%."
