kinda hard now. you'll need some serious hookups. especially if you're looking just to have a job for the next 2 months only.
your best bet is to go to a temp agency. at least you will "hopefully" get the odd job.
best bet is to go retail or eatery though. at this point in time
most high school "summer" office jobs are usually already taken. make sure you apply in april/may for summer jobs when you're in highschool
when you get to university make sure you start applying in february/march
if not earlier!

look on craigslist.
try places like loblaws and shit.
I worked at loblaws through highschool, and it was the greatest job.
just slacked off and hit on girls/wives all day.
p.s. the Deli is the best place to work.

If you are looking for a job in retail, check out http://www.jobloft.com/
That site is used by many big retailers such as Sears, Best Buy, Walmart, etc...
you can also try jobbank.gc.ca
There are a lot of student jobs posted there.

Honestly, if you really really wanted a job, just go work at a fast food place/supermarket.
Im sure if you spent a day going to as many of these places with a resume, by the end of the day, you'll have something.
Retail jobs can be found but it will harder than the former two.
Do you have previous work experience?
Will this be your first job? (or first real job that does not involve working for family.. etc...)
If you miss the boat on the summer, try christmas seasonal.
I got my first real job (meaning not working for family anymore) in Nov. last year when they are hiring seasonal staff at Future Shop and Best Buy (thanks whodilly for telling me to apply).
That said, if you've got absolutely no work exp, you probably won't get hired in retail.

man do i miss the days of working at the grocery store... it was so great... staring at milfs, walking around to make it look like you were busy or taking naps in the milk cooler or on top of the shelves *sigh* why does an office job suck so much!!

My first job was at Wonderland.. it was fun. Quite a few of us were working there from highschool so it was a great atmosphere. Just don't get stuck in games or ecology. lol.

try Timmies

Avoid the timmies and other fast food places, dont go wal mart, it seems like you gotta actually bust your ass to work. Try a telemarketing company, yes its a crappy job, but the pay is very good, very generous for someone in highschool.
