I don't know anyone else that has done it before. But why not contact Jeff at Audio Heaven, and ask him? He's in the area..

Hey Guys

Just to clear the air of the confusion surrounding LOCKDOWN and angel eye installations.

We *used* to do the installations on angel eyes for $200, however we realised that the time it takes, the cost of any future warranty service, the headaches involved with the installation, and the risks associated with angel eye installation were not being covered by a prce of $200.

When we realised the above we decided to altogether stop doing angel eye installations, however, there was so much demand from potential customers to do the work and we were receiving so many regular phone calls about this type of work that we decided to begin doing angel eyes again.

SO..... we do indeed do angel eye installations, but our pricing has gone up to $300 for installation labour PLUS any required parts (parts would be specialty switches, relays etc etc.). Angel eye installation takes 4 - 5 hours of work to properly perform.

With all the above said, we MUST forewarn any potential angle eye purchaser that in our experience, (not by any means always the case) angel eye ballasts and to a lessor extent angel eye rings are very fragile and tend to have high failure rates down the road (6 - 8 months is usually when problems occur).

ALSO, we must forewarn that the factory seal on your headlights must be broken and taken apart, we 100% try our utmost to re-assemble and re-seal the assemblies just like factory, but there is no guarantee that your assembly will not leak in the future. This fact (no guarantee of future leakage) is why we try our utmost to make potential angel eye installation customers know the risks involved.

If you or somoene you know is interested in this type of work, please contact us by phone or by email. Our details are listed below, and you can ask for Jeff or Chad.

Thanks for the heads up Jeff. We appreciate the honesty and candor of your warnings. All you can do is make the members understand the "potential" risks so they can make an informed decision.

have you attempted using a silicon sealing solvent? that way they do not leak and if ever need be they are reopenable. Thats what i did with mine a long time ago i may even have some sealent stuff left over. If i havent thrown it out yet iwill bring it by and leave it with you guys. It did a really nice job

I just used Epoxy silicone..

Hey Guys

Yes we use a specialty silicone sealant to reseal the lights, which has been working very well for us over the last 6 months.

MacGuyver, I'd definitely be interested to see the sealant you have used though, it's always good to explore alternatives.

Lockdown, how much on average do you think an Angel-eye installation would cost including parts and labour? $400 - $500?

Hello TrueBlue3

We do not currently retail any Angel Eye kits ourselves, we just perform the installation.

You'd want to contact Devin (The Xenon Store??) or www.umnitza.com for information on kit pricing itself.

I think the kits range from $129.99 USD on Ebay to $249.99 or so though (just an estimate though).

And I think the installation @ Lockdown is another 300 or so. $380 bucks for the eyes, considering your without a car for a bit ... hardly worth it

i think thats a matter of opinion! I think they look incredible... but Im in agreement with you partially that it is a tad expensive.... but still a nice looking mod..

whiteomega

380 bucks is a very steep price to have what amounts to an appearance mod. yes it looks very good, and yes, a single OEM headlight assembly is about the same price..but i think it's too much.

add to that, as John points out, the risk you take with the ballasts and the fragility (is that even a word? fragility?) of the lights themselves, and it starts to become easy to see why most people don't consider it a worthwhile investment. i debated long and hard about this myself, and then decided that it simply wasn't worth the money or time involved.

Angel eyes? I think you can get them from town and country BMW.
I still only like them on stock cars that come with them.
