is it still FWD?
if they can offer caliber in AWD, why not turbo + AWD?
i feel sorry for the caliber owners that have to dish out big $$$ for
18" alloys + winter tires... or 19" winter tires + OEM wheels...
at least we can put on 17" steelies + winter tires..
correct me if i'm wrong..
does MS3 run a little less than 6sec for 0-100km/h?
i know in Edmunds.com, MS6 does 6.3 sec for 0-100km/h and 14.3 sec @ 1/4mile..(but many in M6C got faster time on the strip w/ DSC off)

in my personal opinion, it's too damn bad the dodge is a terribly styled vehicle
and it's interior is way too high up and rigid. there's no flow to this vehicle and the center console tries too hard.
otherwise, i don't doubt the power... srt's always have power.... but these vehicles can't manage to stay in style for more than 2 years at best.....

It can show all the numbers it wants. At the end of the day, that car is FUGLY.

ROFL
I'd pick MS3 over this in a heart beat on any day.

Interesting specs...
- RS-As for standard tires? Scary considering the power output of the car.
- 93 octane fuel? Geez...
Lots of grunt though.
Any ideas on price?

Goodyear F1 Super car tires seems to have very good review.....
and costing a bit more than the RE050A, $20-$30/tire more...
however, 225/45/19....do they even exist? can't find them
in 1010tires, tiretrend, tirerack. unique size maybe?

To be honest, anyone running less than 93 on a car boosting 15psi or more is playing with fire in my opinion if they drive hard.

I agree with you on the interior...I had a Calibre as a rental and if you're over 6ft tall forget it. The edge of the roof line where it meets the windshield was right in my line of sight and I had to recline the seat big time...Also the steering column was a PITA since I kept on hitting it with my knee as I entered the car. Picture here are hard to tell but like any domestic car..too much plastic and like kid_icarus stated...no flow

I noticed that about the 93 octane as well. Hell, isn't Sunoco the only ones around that offer this?
I'd expect most people to run 91 and I'm sure the car will compensate for that. I wonder what the numbers are for 91??

not sure, but there is a ton of states where 91 is the best available. that being said our manual says 91 or BETTER so essentially we're in the same boat as pat said

why ? cause its a hatch ? :chuckle
250hp+ for FWD ? common, when are car companies going to learn that AWD or RWD is the way to truly maximize that power? I'm just glad one company has it figured out ..

250+hp in a usable form factor plus rwd/awd doesn't come cheap. VW R32, Subby STI, BMW 135i Hatch come to mind... none of which are within $12,000 of the 20k (USD... even worse in CND dollars) price range so i disagree.
Companies figured it a long time ago, consumers want the go of those sports cars, the utility of popular econoboxes, year round drivability and for not too much cash which is why the last srt4 sold nearly double the annual sales of the evo and STI combined during its final year.
The civic si, golf gti, ms3, srt4 caliber, chevy hhr ss, nissan spec v, mini cooper s combined sales/market size is nothing to sneeze at and would greatly trump the units of bmw 135i's, r32's, sti's/evo's let alone the pull factor on the standard models. I recall seeing somewhere that sales of the mazda 3 were up 20%... 20% this late into its lifecycle, you'd have to be kidding if you didn't think all those magazine covers and press on the ms3 didn't help boost sales in the even bigger market... so i think companies do understand, quite well in deed

the unfortunate thing is that ppl will still wanna buy the ugly mule
cuz it's got a AWESOME LIL FRIDGE TO STORE YOUR DRINKS!! OOOH WOW!!!:whoa

I was really disappointed when I found out that the drink cooler was simply a duct from the A/C system. They could have made a proper cooler that wouldn't have required the constant running of the A/C compressor.

you missed the point... they know how to maximize the power just fine, and they know what people will ultimately buy and bring their products to the market accordingly. Don't like it, they're lots of more expenisve niche rides to chose from

The other companies don't do it because they don't have too. People buy them anyway.
They charge more for their cars than the MS3 without AWD/RWD or even an LSD.
They are the ones laughing......
The SRT-4 is for Dodge fans...it is not going to lure someone in from another brand.
All these cars are made just to appease the minority of rabid compact cars freaks that are brand loyal.
P.S I think it is a P.O.S....:chuckle

$24,995.00 - options additional for the Caliber SR4T. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder but you can't ignore raw HP at this pricepoint.
Lots of SR4T go fast parts goodies in the wings for the tuner crowd.
$25K should have been Mazdaspeed3's base price and I see lots of them on the dealers lots as predicted. The new Mazda3 is due in 2010 - next Mazdaspeed3 in 2012. The Mazdaspeed MX-5 is ready to go (slightly detuned). Mazda3 GT should be pushing 200HP in the new generation.
The new 6 is sweeeeeet!

10k in options though, 25-35 is a big range but nice that you can get that kind of power for the cheap
