I got a ticket while parking my car on the street before 10am. Was trying to move the car out of the way to take the garbage out and forgot to move it back.
Anyways, the guy who wrote the ticket got my expiry wrong, so should I ask them to cancel it. And do I have a case, even thou it seems minor.

they won't throw it out tickets for minor items anymore.

u can try asking them to waive it. they did that for me at waterloo ONCE. I came in right when they opened, they were nice about it =).

Just pay it. It can't be that much. I doubt you'll win this one and if you don't pay it, they won't let you renew your licence.
And you admitting guilt for it has absolutely no bearing on your insurance because it is a parking ticket rather than a moving violation.
In the end, it's only a few bucks out of your pocket.

IMO parking tickets are not worth the hassle, taking time of work or time that can be used else where, to fight.

I'd definitely double check what the by laws are in your area... depends on the city... as well to check if there is a no parking sign.. I fought one in Markham even though there are no signs stating that there is no parking between 2am - 6am, but according to them we are supposed to know these things, double check your whole ticket... sometimes the tools write it out on the wrong ticket.. had that happen once, got a ticket in markham, but it was written on a richmond hill ticket. Most of the time if you challenge the ticket they just wipe it off.... and getting one at 10am... I've never heard of that before.. thats pretty harsh! :bang
If you feel it is worth the time and effort to fight the ticket.
Just say you were drinking and didn't think you should be driving.

I know in Richmond Hill you can make an appointment to fight the ticket - when you go in there, they tell you that you cant fight it there, but without any fight, they offer you to just pay half - I know that the normal tickets are $30, so to pay $15 to avoid the hassle of going to court is probably worth it, but $30 is too steep, so its worth "going to fight it" and just getting it halved... I did it about 2 months ago, I had to wait about 2 weeks for the appointment, but I was in the building for about 15 mins, so it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be!
Call the number on the back of the ticket and see what you can do :)
Good luck!

I will spell it out for you.
He got a ticket for parking on the street before 10am. He could say he was too drunk to move his car from the street. Therefore if he drove the car he would be drinking and driving, so he thought it was safest to leave the car on the road until he sobered up.
Do you follow the excuse now?

It's so crazy... it just might work!
I can tell you it worked for me about 10 years ago (damn I am getting old).
If they won't drop it you then ask if they are encouraging drinking and driving. They will have to drop it then.

Quit while you're a head Caz. The city is not responsible for mistakes that arise from stupidity on an individuals part. If you drink then you assume the consequences that go with it. If you drink too much....even more so.
:chuckle
I'd still give it a shot.

They would tell you that you should have been smart enough to move the car before you started to drink, or to get a friend who is sober to move the car for you... I got a ticket on the day of my 19th birthday (way back when) for BLOCKING MY OWN DRIVEWAY... considering when I got home I wasn't conscious, I think that moving my car would have been an impossibility... I tried the excuse, but no luck :(
If you get it halved without having to waste 2 hours in court, then in my opinion the $15 is worth it!
