Over the past 2 days I have noticed a significant increase in the number of tickets being handed out by police, both on major roads (like Steeles) and also on quieter streets.
I don't think it's any coincidence that the city is suddenly in financial trouble and the increase in handing out tickets, which generates revenue. So be a little careful.

If any of you ever drive on Elgin Mills Rd, becareful the section between Warden and Woodbine always has cops. The last time I was on there I saw 6 cars being pulled over cause their hiding spot is almost impossible to see from a distance.

A friend of mine got stopped on Conlins last night and basically harassed for nothing. They said his car sounded loud and basically called him a street racer. The car is a stock RSX-S with an intake.
No tickets or anything. Just a hassle.

its not really about city finances, its more to do with summer quotas.
tickets don't generate that much cash for the city I imagine.

They have been setting up speed traps across the road from my work 3 days in a row now. Watch out.

They're everywhere right now. I've seen lots more cops on the highways as well.
Be careful everyone!

Speaking of traps, I think there's a redlight camera at Parliament and Richmond. Right in front of the Shell station, across from AutoCity. So if you're hitting the downtown club district at night watch out.
The redlight camera is in a box that's painted grey and sitting on a pole, it's quite large so I don't think you're going to miss it. It's also facing west.

Well, Toronto makes around $80 million/yr from parking fines, and over $130 million/yr from all fines. Not sure how much they make each year from speeding or other traffic violations.
