3.5 mm cable, I got one for free from a flea market

You can use the basic 3.5 mm headphone cable but it will sound way better if you tie into the dock connector. The headphone jack is amped and is not as clear a signal as an output from the dock connector. I used a Belkin power adapter that includes a 3.5 mm output, so that the power and audio connect up in the centre console and only one dock cable connects to the ipod. It sounds great - i got this one at Bestbuy a while back.

I've got craploads of those cables - meant for connecting soundcard to speakers in monitors, but they work well none the less. Lemmie know if you want one.
