Hey guys, I just got my Mazda 3 a couple of weeks ago and am already yearning for a better sound system.

I was hoping to get some input from other Mazda 3 Sport owners. I am planning to replace the stock speakers with 6.5's (not sure on the brand) powered by an amp, running off a LOC off the stock headunit.

Unfortunately I dont think I have the room for a sub as I am an electrician and need all the space I can get for tools.

So I'm just wondering what you guys are using in yours doors and how the bass is? Can I get by without a sub? I listen to mainly, Rap/Hip Hop, Drum n Bass, A bit of rock. The bass doesn't have to be bowel moving, this is an SQ system, not SPL.

I also plan on adding a 7" touch screen later and carputer wired through the stock hu as well (just to keep it clean and reduce theft).

So some speakers brands, 4 channel amps and Install location reccomendations would be much appreciated. This is my first car and so far I am loving the 3!

Thanks,

-Kai

How much do you want to spend? ...and I think with your taste in music a sub is a must, they have some pretty small packages (sub&box) but could be pricey.

I think for now I am going to forget about the sub, if I feel I still need it at a later date I may try to do a custom install into the rear wheelwell or something.

My budget is approximately $600 for 4 speakers, 2 tweeters and an amp.

I notice quite a few people seem to be using the 6.5 Clarion Pro Audio speakers. How do you guys like them? Good bang for the buck? Good bass response?

Thanks again,

-Kai

Talk to either Davis at Selective Sound, or Jeff at Audio Heaven... They are the experts for finding what customers need in their car... As soon as I have time, I'm going to meet with Jeff and get Speakers with tweeters!!!

Morel and Polk audio have some very nice speakers as for amps it all depends on what kind of power you are looking for and what kind of budget you are on.
