Mississauga Mazda - 48K service

Had my 48K/ 2 year service done at Mississauga Mazda - $212 plus taxes. Also needed rear brakes (32K km, almost all city)
Everything done and on time.

I'm scheduled to go in for my 64k service tomorrow at Mississauga Mazda. I think I might need Rear brakes as well. Did you replace the pads only or both pads/rotors? How much was the cost for the brake job?

Pads and rotors, was around $400...don't have the bill with me. When they phoned, I told them to go ahead (hate getting those phone calls), then thought about doing it myself, I have done brakeds before and even bought a tool from princess auto to spiral the pistons back in, so I called them back but they had already started the work. Could have saved about $200 on labour and put on aftermarket (less dust) pads....oh well.

I may need call on you sometime down the road for that piston reset tool :chuckle Cdn tire used to loan those out, but i've been reduced to using a flimsy c-clamp to reset pistons now :loco

The rears have to be turned as you push them back because of the parking brahe, whereas the fronts can go straight in. I bought this tool from Princess Auto and it fits on a 3.8" drive socket. Was $3 during their big sale. It looks like a cube with a 3/8" hole on each side and 5 different sets of pins to match most popular brake pistons. Haven't checked yet to see if Mazda (Ford) is one of them, but for $3, not a big deal.
