*flame suit zipped up and ready to go*

It struck me, when I was looking around, and posting my garage sale thread (shameless plug - check it out in the classifieds section), and have found that although there are a few people who seem to be a bit more "savvy" than the average computer user, there isn't a clear cut "go-to" guy for IT solutions/advice. Sort of like "TheBiz" of the geeky computer world.

Yes, I know this is an automotive-themed forum, and statistically speaking there should be a more "tech aware" population here, but theres bound to be some level of demand for advice/service/repair/upgrade/install out there? I already work with a few clients (outside of my full time job), but would like to increase my customer-base.

What do you guys think? Maybe if I pay the sponsor fee...

sure, if you want to pay the sponsorship fee, and advertise your services. Would be interesting to see what type of response you would get.

I guess the sponsorship fee would be best left to PM, but I wanted to get a feel for whether this would even get off the ground.

i think it is an interesting concept, and i would like to see other types of sponsors coming on board, Ami and i have talked about this sort of thing

so, lets see what people think of the idea, if there is interest in the masses

I think its a cool idea... if you think about it.... there are alot of general questions/postings... that are brought up on the boards... this might be a cool experiment to see how it works... especially as there would have to be a TM3 discount since your a member too :chuckle I say go for it!!!

:) i'm glad you guys see "eye-to-eye" with me. I see a lot of potential, and i'd be helping the community become an "all purpose" forum if thats the direction the mods/owner wants to go in :bana2

I dunno bout the general direction part of it.. thats up to the mods... but SilentJay I think you'd be dealing with something that has been brought up alot as of recently there seems to be more "tech" type computer questions.... and its really just everyone feeding off of one anothers personal experience there really aren't any "pro's" as per say....

I'll be looking around for them, but if anyone encounters them, please feel free to point 'em my way :)

As a side note, anyone have any ideas as far as how i'd be able to gauge interest? I'd really like to see this off the ground! :)

I'm not from or in Toronto so I'm not trying to take away from your local visits, tech installs, assemblies etc, but I work in the IT industry as well and can offer technical support any time.
