So today I went to see Jimmy at Street Performance so he could install a MS3 exhaust on my 05 GT/GFX Sedan. This was the first time Jimmy had installed a MS3 exhaust on a sedan. Jimmy of course did another great job.

Jimmy had to make two modifications so the MS3 exhaust would fit the sedan. The MS3E is a foot shorter then the sedan so he had to use a part off my stock exhaust so it would fit. And he had to cut the tip off so it could be extended.

Overall the car sounds great. Thanks to Garu for the exhaust and for meeting me at Jimmy`s and sticking around to hear the car once it was done.

Heres a few pics.

Enjoy, it sounded quite aggressive just like an MS3. :chuckle
It was indeed an interesting experience as Jimmy described, getting that exhaust installed on a sedan.

Look good! Nice job! Hey I've seen you twice this week driving down Bovaird. Your car looks solid. Especially when it's moving. See you around.

As Garu mentioned it pretty much sounds the same as a MS3. Didnt notice any gains except the car sounds sweet. ;)

I think the gain will be only noticeable at high RPM, but I haven't really step on it yet

Oh...I'm getting my sedan done with Jimmy on Tuesday. Did he have to cut off the cat off your car to make the flange fit?

Looks nice...can't wait for mine!

With CBE you loose low end torque , which is why your car may feel sluggish off the get go.

All the gains are in the higher rpm band.

lol do your research !

Too many resonators on the MS3 CBE. The regular Mazdspeed add-on CBE has a better looking tip IMO and no need for modification.

Yes, you have to use the cat from the stock exhaust.

Garu

I don't think it's 3". I think it's something like 2.75".

I wasn't really paying attention while Jimmy installed your exhaust onto ParM3's car LOL, Garu...I love your ride, why don't we switch?

I don't think it's 3". I think it's something like 2.75".

It starts out at 2.5" at the cat but by the time it gets to the tip it is 2.75"

I guess Mazda created the exhaust like this because of the turbo.

yes, but where it is cut to serve as a cat back for the regular 3 it is 2.75 at that point

maybe the reason for why the loss of lowend torque maybe the size of the plumbing....

the turboed cars can take advantage of this, but on a regular 3, the velocity of the gases expelled will decrease and may be cause back pressure? that's what i've read anyway.

but i'm sure the loss is very very minimal

yep you lose back pressure b/c of the bigger pipe. The lose of torque is noticeable but minimal.

+2 to this whole thread, jimmy just installed a MS3 exhaust in my 3 sedan, he did an awesome job, sounds wicked.

Although if you ask Garu or Vlad they will have trouble hearing you from behind the roar of their satanic back-pipes, then scoff. :chuckle

for my purposes I love it.

+1000000 to Jimmy for being a great guy and doing an awesome job!

i thought i remembered reading that there is half the reasonator stuff in the ms3 vs. the standard three? flows better, so more noise gets out too i suppose
