Last week some idiot in the parking garage at work rubbed his bumper along the side of my car and wasn't man enough to leave a note to say they would pay for the damages. so that's going to cost me $680. Then i took my car in for 24K service and they said i need to change my rear rotors and pads. That would cost another $4XX plus the 24k service $195 plus tax. Well I said hell no to the brake job. Its just not my week :(

Rear pads and roters at 24K? Sounds a little premature...

When I had my car in at Prima Mazda for my 48K service the advisor was surprised that I was still on my original rear pads/rotors...he said that they usually get replaced between 25 - 35k.

Wow that's insane. I'll be checking mine closely when I swap my rims in the fall.

Keep in mind that you should be able to replace the rotors and pads for significantly less if you do them yourself. Parts cost is probably only about half that.

i just brought my car in for an oil change at agincourt mazda @ 30K and the advisor said my air filter was dirty (tried to charge me $30), lol . Hmmm according to the manual , it should be changed at 60K and I even took a peak at the filter, pretty clean to me. Unless he was talking about my cabin air filter which I doubt could cost $30 for part and installation.

Sorry to hear, regarding the pads and rotors, I just did my fronts myself and parts ran me $250 and I'm pretty sure the rears are cheaper. So as WW is suggesting, save some ca$h if you really need to replace them and DIY.

Lucky its not a Honda - $67.28 for the in cabin filter, $32.08 for the assembly to hold it in and 55.52 to install - :complain:flaming:bang

Neighbour just had his rear brakes and pads done on his 3 at 48K and was also told they don't last much past 24K. That's just insane.

ok that seems way to early to have to do a rear break job. 25000 and 30000 klm?

Must be cheap products on there from the get go.
