Okay, so put on my Prokits this weekend and sure enough car is to low for my semi low profile floor jack. I need some opinions on how to get the car high enough for a floor jack. Didn't think a poll was needed but here's what I think could work, I'd like to know if anyone has some comments about them or a better solution. I have the old school red metal ramps but the incline is way to high for the car now.

1. RhinoRamp @ Ctire ($60). Offers a 17degree incline for low profile vehicles, full rubber and antislip on most surfaces.

2. Lynx Levellers @ Ctire ($80). RV "lego" block leveling system which could be stacked into a ramp formation for low grade incline. Question is, how many blocks do you get for 80 bucks?

3. 2x4 wood @ home ($freebie). Just drive the car up on top and hope it doesn't move?

4. 2 floor jack method. Flipping scary but can be done, jack up a side to get another jack in the middle.

I didn't know you can get RhinoRamps at Canadian Tire! I've been looking for those.

I'd say jack up your car from behind. Get it in between the 2 wheels and jack it up......thats how i jack up my car with sportlines on.

could you jack the car up one side at a time, and slide your current ramps in under the tires?

2x8's work better

Thats what I've been doing.

His issue is that the jack doesn't fit under the side.

I'm assuming he only needs another inch or so of clearance, so I'd just use the boards. Check the scrap bin at Home Depot and stuff to find something wider than 2x4's and then you won't have to worry too much about positioning.

Hell, for years I was using a bunch of cardboard as my ramp. I'd filled a pizza box with enough cardboard to make about a 3" high ramp. I'd pull on on that, and then my jack fit easily.

Okay, I'll do a dumpster run at Home Depot for some scraps. Hmm now to think when during the week do I normally see piles of old skids. I'll use the 4x4 runners as a base and make something up.

I wasn't sure if using wood should be an acceptable method. But shelling out $60 for ramps that I can't fit my body underneath I wasn't to keen on.
Thanks guys!

dude ... just take a couple of 2X8 planks (which is realy 1.5" by 7.5") and drive up on to them ... if its still too low than take another 2 planks and put them on top of the bottom 2 so that it looks like stairs ... thats what i do ... no need to go out and spend all kinds of money

Triple jacks !!! Woah, I used two to get my car back onto the ground. Although easier with a friend, I won't always have that luxury.

i know the feeling, before i got my rain guards, i used to push up on the car from the window and a friend would slide the jack under,
