I've been trying to search information on this dash kits to mount a future pioneer avic-d3 or avic-z1 6.5" screen DVD player, and I've found that there are a few kits on ebay such as:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200097435148&sspagename=ADME:X:AAQ:CA:11

Which prices at over a 100 dollars, but affirms compatiblity with automatic climate controls, AND functions with the factory LCD.

Then over here there is another dash kit that says it does not work with automatic climate controls.

I don't see how I can't use my automatic climate controls in the cheaper model dash kit? The factory LCD has it's own plug for models after 04'... am I correct? So wouldn't that mean that I can get the cheaper model and still have ACC?

Also, if you remove the factory deck, you lose the buttons that control the LCD. Can someone tell me HOW (not if) the LCD still functions without the factory deck? Like what you will see on the LCD, and how to use the other features such as displaying MPG etc.

I have a mazda 3 06 sedan /s grand touring

Does it include everything in the ebay auction?

And can you tell me what is so different with this kit:

That is only 20 dollars?

yes its the same kit i have 1 in black and 1 in grey

with the $20 kit there is no mounts for the LCD or wiring harness that sells for about $30
so it comes down to you get what you pay for
if you want to come look at the kit PM me
im in Thornhill

Philip, what are you doing here?

I'd like to know too how I can retain trip computer function w/ a double din kit too. Possible to move/rewire the trip computer's button to somewhere else in the car and keep it plugged in? from what I read on mazda3forum once the stock audio deck is removed, even if LCD is retained you won't be able to change settings on it since the info/set button is gone.
