I searched the forum and i cant seem to find anything about this. I am trying to change the halogen bulb in the headlight assembly (low beam). I am following the manual for everything. I have so far unplugged the bulb and removed the rubber seal. The part i cant seem to undo is the holdback spring. The manual says to pull out and away but it seems pretty hard to do so. Has anybody had a problem with this and how have you removed it??
Thanks.

Push the clip inwards (towards the front of the car), then up and out. The PITA is getting it back in.

Thanks.... I'll give it a shot....
Fiddle with it. My hands were cut and dirty by the time I got through tackline those dang things. Total PITA.

yeah man.... those springs are a HUGE PITA...... patience is the key to it... the others are right.. be prepared to have some nice and dirty hands and a few war wounds for the fight.... my suggestion is try using a pair of mechanix gloves if you have em.... taking them off wasn't so bad... it was putting them back that was the issue... just like bluntman said

That is nothing... try getting replacement housings.... AFter getting used to removing the hids and putting them back into the new housing... The damn Retention clip is worsed than my first one.... It does this weird upward motion when puting it in.... ITS worse than PITA... ITS A TACO!!!

I actually had a harder time undoing it than putting it back.... just did it last night...
I hate those stupid retaining clips.. took me forever to get my HIDs in because of those damn ^&*%^&* things
such a stupid design

+1
The first time is the worst but once you got the concept figured out it gets easier.
You kinda have to push-down-in towards the car; its so hard to explain
