Although i have a compustar alarm done at lockdown (automatic), I have to warn you that while i was there during the 4-5 hour install I witnessed alot of calls (10+) from people who had trouble with the Compustar + viper alarms who had manual transmission.
Someone with a computstar + manual car can probably explain that there is some kind of produce or steps that you have to take before leaving/arming the alarm.
Also make sure you understand exactly what kind of features you will want, or should have active. Like the RPS unlocking thing is probably cool? but it probably isn't very safe/smart.

i have had a compustar installed on my car for about close to a year now if not more and i have a standard transmission and i have NO problems what so ever.
to get the starter to work
leave car in nuetral
pull up handbrake
pull out key (engine stays running up to 2 minutes if you do not shut the door)
open door exit vehicle (make sure your door closes after all the other doors are opened (unless travelling alone) otherwise the alarm will lock the others in the car
close drivers door (car shuts down alarm arms remote gives off song)

Yes. This is set up to ensure that the alarm knows that the car was locked while still in neutral. Otherwise, if it tried to start while in gear, the car would lurch forward or backwards.

Just make sure you really remember how to use your alarm and you'll be fine. The remote starter is a great great feature. One of the best things is of course for winter but if you shut off your car with the AC on, you can remote start it and it will continue to have AC activated and cool down the car!

Hey Guys
We do sometimes get a lot of calls from people who do not remember or have trouble setting up "reservation mode" (5 speed safety sequence) on their CompuSTAR systems.
Whenever we finish an installation we ensure to explain the features and "how toos" of using the CompuSTAR on a 5 speed vehicle, however we also ALWAYS state plain and clear that our customers READ their owners manuals, as this is the only 100% way to get familiar with the features/useability of their systems. This is the aspect that many people also fail to do!
Compustar is one of the BEST remote start/security brands on the market right now, bar none. And I will be 100% honest, we are biased on this because we carry the brand, but in my 12 years of experience there is no other manufacturers that can claim the features/reliability/installation ease/logical layout and design that CompuSTAR has.
