now the s2k will now have some balls aka torque in the lowend.

i dunno about u, but that whole "SCREAMING 10k RPM REDLINE" thing isnt for me. i dont like how it needs to be at the edge to make the most out of it.

that ls1 makes it an interesting car. just like a monstermiata XD

Fun car to drive!!! Best 2 days of my life when I had one to drive. Then I had to trade back cars :( wish my buddy needed my 4 door more often!

Dropping in an LS1 is pure stupidity........ all that thing needs is a properly matched turbo kit

i read the entire thread, suprisingly he hasn't got ripped on yet.

Kudos to him for doing everything himself . Would I have put a GTO engine in my s2k? hell no. Part of the reason people buy the s2k is because of the engine thats in it.

This dude must have lost a lot of quarter miles with his S , and this is just a way to make it all up.

I agree with that. 9K red line is awesome. 8K redline on the old si is what I love about that car too.

LS1? Why didn't he use a Honda V-8? Keep it brand loyal?

if you read the thread, he goes on to say that the ls1 has more aftermarket support. lol and where are you going to find a v-8 honda engine?

Muwahahha......so true......honda never made a V8. The biggest one is the pilot and the ridgeline (i think thats what they call it)

isn't the car gonna be slower with that big engine?

If he can have wide enough tires at the back...it won't be a problem.

holy shit, can u imagine boosting that LS1??
v8's make MAD POWER when boosted.

and ive seen a guy drop a mid 90's civic body onto a corvette chassis/engine/suspension

LS1 is a great engine to work with, but I would have kept it brand loyal, although it would have been tough.

Its going to be very front heavy, to bad for him. Not more Auto-X, he'll do well at the strip though.

I thought the same thing at first . But apparently the LS1 has aluminum block and many other aluminum parts making it only a little heavier than stock.

off topic .. but for those that watch Top Gear , don't you just love the way Jeremy says aluminum --- "aluminium"

If I remember, the S2000 engine (F20C) is about 315-330lbs, and the LS1 engine is about 380-400lbs. So yes, it's heavier . . . but that LS1 motor isn't exactly a heavy weight.

Wow I had no idea it was that light.

Still inefficient for its size ;)
