I've been looking for a torque wrench that wasn't too expensive but gets the job done, meanwhile being decent for the price. Came across this on the CT website, any feedback on it or suggestions?

I know the one you are talking about. Mastercraft makes quality stuff. It's a great wrench.

The one thing I worry about cheaper torque wrenches is how accurate they are.

why not spend $100 on a quality husky torque wrench? I bought one 2 years ago and its still in perfect condition. Get a good one and if you properly maintain it then it'll last you at least 10 years.

The Mastercraft is around that, and goes on sale for 50% off. They make a 3/8" and a 1/2" drive of course, and both are nice pieces. Lifetime warranty is piece of mind.

with teh mastercraft one make sure you don't get the wrong unit measure, some of them come in inch pounds!!! you don't want inch pounds!

I picked up the Mastercraft 250 lb 1/2 inch drive TW, code number; 58-8558-0...its exactly what you need, also get a 4" extension and a deep 21mm socket and you'll be set.

I have the Mastercraft and its perfect. Paid 2-3 years ago 115$ if I remember correctly. Before that I did buy a cheap Princess auto and it was really crap. When it was "clicking" to tell you the pre-adjusted torque was obtained, you could still continue to tight it even more....pos.

Holy chit mang that's exactly what its supposed to do! Allow you to tighten a fastener to a specific torque, without over-tightening...your cheap princess auto torque wrench was working fine.

how can it be working fine if he said that after it clicks, he can still tighten it more.

That it how a torque wrench works. When it clicks, YOU are supposed to stop pulling. It doesn't stop for you.

That it how a torque wrench works. When it clicks, YOU are supposed to stop pulling. It doesn't stop for you.

The MC DEFINATELY has some delay or counter-force that stops you (to a point that I have never tried to find out) when it starts clicking so you have precise torquing and dont go passed it.

The Princess was clicking and ALWAYS kept on going. Then you were trying to re-torque and it wasnt even clicking any more and I was now torquing too much. I paid it 20$ and thrust me it wasnt working fine.
