There's quite a few places around the GTA for jumping out of a plane. You gotta try it at least once in life. ;)

Royal Regiment of Canada (Fort York), Reserve.
That was crazy to watch. I'd never have the balls to go... but I've always wondered what it would look like. Thanks for posting the video! Looks like you had a blast!!!!

I went skydiving a few years a go with Toronto Sky Dive, did a solo static line jump. Was an amazing experience.

Congrats on an awesome new experience. I think it's one of those things that everyone HAS to do at least once in their life.
Maybe we should get all the ppl together that aren't opposed to this kind of activities and organize a TM3 group jump? We'll throw Ami off the plane with the banner instead of the shute :P
Group outting will get a nice discount on Solo First Jump;
http://www.parachuteschool.com/jumpprices.html
September $229
October $199
Group Discounts (apply to Solo First Jumps only)
$10 for 5-9
$20 for 10-14
$30 for 15-19
$40 for 20+
I was a bit surprised they didn't make me wear a helmet too.
I enjoyed the free-fall part a helluva lot more than the descent with chute open. I might not enjoy the solo static line jump as much ... :S
I thought SpeedBaby was gonna say "throw Ami off the plane with TM3 shorts on only" lol

it's like throw mama from the train, except it's throw Ami from the plane. Anyhow, remind me if we do this to check my chute myself.:chuckle

do we have anyone else who have their licenses here? I would think that it should increase the discounts...

well that's an option as well: banner and shorts, that's all you get Ami! that's what you call true patriotism! I promise your heroic act will not be forgotten! :chuckle

by license, do you mean free fall license? I don't have any licenses, and since it's been a few years, would likely go with the newb training.

Are you still in?
When did you get your wings?

Nope, this was way back like 2001-2003.

Almost as interesting as this chick (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bA0ffwe3QFs) then.
On that thought, remember the flapping bird (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XIzjPFkPeY)? :chuckle

Awesome!
I wish I had the balls to want to do this before I decided to shackle myself to a mortgage...

I'd be interested in a group jump too, went white water rafting this summer and that was wicked also, this is on my "to do" list.
Elder, put aside some money each month and next year summer you can do it! :)
Just an FYI the group discount only applies to solo static line jump ... meaning no free fall :(

Haha - well, upfront cost isn't the issue - it's just the risk. In the unlikely but possible event that I become a nice smear on the Earth's surface, I wouldn't want to leave my family with the burden of paying off property for the next couple of decades.
Hypocritically, I seem to have no issues with crazier car stuff (i.e. autocrossing, track days). I'll have to remember skydiving the next time I come within a couple feet of a concrete barrier on a race track and somehow convince myself that it's the same level of "uninsurable" risk. :P
