So, just bought my 3 GT yesterday, and as soon as I drove off the lot I noticed a nick on the windshield. So I immediately called back to my sales agent and he said come tomorrow and we'll take care of it.

Now they're giving me issues today saying oh, it isn't a defect... we don't cover damage. We'll have to get back to you. Well I know that! This was like this when I got the car! Bah.. any advice?

Go back, you should have the moment you saw it!!!!!!

I should have... it was kind of late so the agent said come back tomorrow when the service department is open...

So I go back today and I get nothing but blame shifting... the car still has less than 60km on it.

You bought it yesterday? 1 day is fine... You just bought it! I'd go back and if they give you a hard time... go up to every customer on the sales floor looking at cars and tell them what happened in the 1st day of owning the car... All you need to do is convince 1 person to not buy from them and they have lost more than the cost to fix your problem.

Boycott, well... what I can say here is don't buy from Markham Mazda, damn this just ruined my whole first car experience!

Bought it a week ago, picked it up yesterday, wish I knew to buy from MoT first!

Good luck with your windshield.

So it's unlikely they'll do anything right? Damn, that sucks, it may not be SUCH a big deal, just wish it wasn't there.

edit:
OH, you're on RFD too! Seen your thread there.

Thanks a lot, hope I can somehow figure this out, I mean I called them right after taking it (probably less than 15 minutes). I should have gone back that very second, but I felt reassured when he said he'd take care of it tomorrow.

Sales is sales, next time get it in writing or turn the car around. Markham Mazda was supposed to throw in cargo nets (it was in the contract) and they kept pushing it off, I just stopped bothering after a while. After a while they said they would just send me a cheque for the difference and it still hasn't arrived almsot 2 years later.

It wasn't worth my time to follow up.

sorry to hear that. But if you ask me, I think every dealership is like that. I have a friend who's a mechanic at a german car dealership and they give their cars to the customers knowing there's a huge scratch on the car but they dont inform the customer. And since its a pretty high end car, the customer trusts the dealership and dont really check. Once they drive it off the lot, its too late!

Anyways, have you tried talking to the GM at that dealership? That works pretty well too.

i think everyone should be inspecting their cars before they sign off on delivery. it doesn't matter if you trust the dealership or not. when you're spending that kind of money, it's just better to be sure you're getting what you want.

It sucks because I felt I was actually doing a pretty thorough check, you live and learn. It's just bad that they're trying to back out after saying they'd fix it, or rather in their ambiguous words, "take care of it".

If this is taking care of your customers, please never buy a car from Markham Mazda. Although, I'm sure most of you already know to go to MoT!

I actually brought mine there but never serviced it there. I heard alot of horror stories, and they pissed me off when I was asking if I can switch the RS-As for winters. (I got the car in feb of 2006).

Not sure what you were quoting of mine... but that is how I would handle it if I was being treated after 1 day of owning the car. Based on what he/she said.

My bad, I meant that even you said he only had it one day but a week ago he said he got his car, in another thread.

Service there is crap... Sorry to say this, but its own by chinese.. Im chinese, I dont like how a warranty part is consider a wear and tear item.. When do you receive good service from a chinese own shop...

the only thing about markham mazda is they are willing to give me a 2500.00 discount on a mazdaspeed 3 or mazdaspeed 6.. how about BIZ!!! Can mazda of toronto give me the same discount on a mazdaspeed 6 in white!!

Jeff-TheBiz

Anything they can do I can do...

But make sure that thry are offering $2500 off of the actual MSRP and not an inflated one..

BTW anyone can get $2500 off a 2007 Mazdaspeed3.. Actually you should be getting $4000 without negotiating at all! (http://torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=12365)

To show them your upset, I would mail back the Markham Mazda plate covers to the head of that dealership and tell them your servicing the car elsewhere. They dont deserve your advertising.. Get Jeff to lend you a new pair.. Did a quick search on the net and Markham Mazda is owned by a guy named Mr. Gin Siow.. Make sure you send the manager a letter and cc Gin Siow. They would probably deal with it sooner if he may be aware of the situation.

Never go to Markham Mazda. They have the most absolute worst service in the galaxy. If there was a Mazda dealership on a different planet light years away from Earth, it would still have better service than the Markham dealership. No jokes!!

My fiance has taken her mazda in for multiple services on the same damn thing, and they keep giving it back to her saying there is no problem. She's probably taken it in AT LEAST 15-20 times for the same thing, and they keep jerking her around.

I'd rather drive my m3 into a wall before taking it to markham mazda (no i'm just joking, i'd never wreck my beautiful m3! I love you I love you mazda3 *kisses car*)

Wow 15-20 times and they still couldn't help you? After the 2nd time I'd move onto another dealer.

She was bringing it in for a grinding noise. But everytime they told her it was nothing.
I told her to take it to a different dealership, but that was a while ago. I don't know what she's doing now, i'll have to ask her.
I currently drive to Ajax Mazda because, 1. My cousin is a sales rep; 2. Haven't had any problems with the service; and 3. Bought my car there.
I don't suppose it matters which dealership you take the car to for servicing after you've bought it, does it? I have my next service coming up in Nov '07, i'm thinking of taking it to MoT since it's like 90% closer. I should tell the woman to do the same.
