Hi.
I had the ProLumen HID kit installed by Lockdown in Toronto ...
My HIDs just turn off on their own... do you think it's an electrical issue or just time to replace the HIDs ?
Everything worked great for 1 year. Now the left fog HID turns on 50% of the time... and the left Main HID turns on 10% of the time.. and then turns off 3-4 minutes later.
Any advice would be appreciated..

Check all connections and grounds. Try switching the ballasts from left to right to see if one of them is bad.
How long have you had the kit?

you could always go to Lockdown and ask them if they can take a look for you too. or call them on the phone to see if they have heard of this problem before.

Hey ...
I'm actually in Vancouver now... I've emailed Lockdown .. hopefully they have an answer.
I'd say i've had the HID installed just over a year ago. I only have 15,000 km on my car.. and I think Devon said .. the HIDs would last 2 years under normal driving.

Just so there's no guessing, it happened with a Prolumen kit?

Always passenger for me too. I have it on auto, once I turn it to ON and back to auto, it'll turn on. I say it happens about once a week. But it'll ALWAYS turns back on once I switch it ON and back.
Same thing happens to me as well, one of them remains off when they supposed to turn on by AUTO setting. But if I turn them off and on and they both come back on.
These are KDW super thin HIDs for fogs that I got from Devin.

That issue is caused by a short in the wires prolly... could be a short in the balastic, good way to tell is with the kit on, try knocking on the balist, if it goes out, prolly a short in the balist itself or a wire leading into it ... can be hard to track down sum times, try moving wires around with it on, had similar issue.
Side note ... Prolumen kits suck :x you get what you pay for.

I don't see why all of you guys are having problems with flickering lights...
I have had my HID fogs and low beams for over 50000 and they have never flickered. The only problem i had was a messed up relay, in which case the lights stay on even when the lights are in the off position.
Have you checked the really? Is it wet? It can cause the switches to stick .. which might be the source to your problems .

I have the same problem. I have the Prolumen 8000K kit on my 06 Sedan. The passenger side bulb was replace 3 months after the install because it would go on and off.
Now that is has been fixed, 4 months later and the passanger side will go on and then you see a "flash" and then it goes out. It turns back on iff you turn the lights off but only for like 5 mins.
The prolumen had a problem with the bulbs overheating. Going to ask Lockdown if this is going to be an on going issue.
What is a better (more reliable brand) of HID. Can a 07 sedan HID kit fit into an 06? Then I can just change the bulb to 8000K.
Thanks

bad ballast or ignitor best bet change everything on the passenger side.
Best bet would be the ballast though

Hello all. I've been looking for answers to this very problem and have read all of these replys and suggestions. Here is my short story. Purchased Lumenia 6000K's from Tires23 April 2007. My buddy and I installed them. They were great. Nice blueish light and having an 07 we didn't need to do anything fancy to get them to work. well, last week I noticed that all of a sudden, I could see the white line on the 427. I soon realized that one of my lights had been out. That's right, passenger side. It happened a few more times, but every time, it would come back on all the time. Now being Nov 16th, the light stays out. I've checked the wiring I've pulled on the wires and shook them. It doesn't appear to be a loose wire and the bulb as of Thursday night was fine. A bit of history: Been running the car with the lights set to auto, no HID fogs or indy fog mod. I have an amp, and ipod adaptor that have worked fine with my lights for 8 months now. I recently ran over a tire on the 401 and needed a new front and rear bumper as well as heat shields and splash guards. This all happened 2 months ago. Not sure if it has anything to do with my current problem. My ballist are are taped to the inside of my front bumper with automotive tape. They haven't move nor can I move them to switch sides. Obviously if it comes down to it I'll have to get them out but I'm hoping that will be a last resort. Is there anything else I should be looking for within the car or wiring to narrow down what has happened? I know this seems long but I wanna make sure those who read this will have enough info to help. Thanks.
Just spoke to Billy at Tires23 and he had me listen for the humming that ballist gives off. No humming means bad ballist. So in my case it seems my passenger side ballist is defective. Will get replacement either Monday or Tuesday.
Thread Revival here, But i JUST got HID's, and the passenger side bulb flickers and Goes from white to yellow during warm-up. This lasts about 60 seconds, in which it sometimes even flickers off for a fraction of a second. Is this normal?

I think your bulb is going, some people had similar issues. Sooner or later it will burn out, or maybe even your ballast will go with it.
The seller on E-bay asked me to swap ballasts to see if the issue follows the bulb or the ballast. Whatever the outcome, he'll ship me a new one. I'm assuming that he'll let me keep the current some-what functioning one until the new one arrives.
He actually responds to e-mails... *cough* Unlike The XS... *cough*
Hopefully all works well in the end.
