I try to avoid rough surfaces at all costs but once in a while I cant avoid bumps/pot holes in the road. I am having a really, really rough ride with the pro-kit, tend to bottom out almost every time i hit a bump. Is anybody else having this problem? I am thinking of putting the stock springs back in cause, this will prb only get worse in winter when I am shoveling snow with my front bumper.

I do bottom out with the pro kit, when there is an unavoidable bump or surface change . But i knew this was expected , since the travel of our shock has now become less, but i plan to get some aftermarket struts down the road to combat this problem . As for winter i have gone through 1 winter with absolutely no plowing problems , mabey just some small side streets , but otherwise , winters not a prob .

I have to say you guys just arnt being careful enough, a prokit is a fairly mild drop, you shouldnt be bottoming out. On the S-Techs I have a hard time bottoming out ...

you definetely arent driving carefully enough if your bottoming out with prokits. i have Sportlines, and ive only recently bottomed out on a speed that i wasnt going over slowly enough.

By bottoming out, do you mean
1. Your wheels are hitting your fender
2. Your car's entire bottom touches the group/speed bump

I got Htechs and problem 1 always happens

I haven't had this problem yet, but I've only had my pro kits installed for about 2 months. Also, I'm all highway driving.

I'd say if your bottoming out with the Pro-kits, you have another problem somewhere. That is assuming you are using stock wheel size of course. In my experience, I've never even come near bottoming out with the pro-kits and I've driven over some F#*k'd-up roads.

Never bottomed out, I just have an issue of getting stuck in car washes like today. The damn bar that you guides your tire is way too high.

You must be rally racing your car.

same. this is usually how i 'bottom out'.
altho i hit the frame (or underbody) on large speedbumps, etc.

I always hit the underbody on speed bumps. Drives me nuts!

I'm hear some rubbing when I'm braking. Also when I "bottom out" I am hitting the underbody. I'm afraid if I keep on doing this im going to end up bending the entire frame. Perhaps they weren't installed properly? I bought the car used so I am not 100% sure of the craftsmanship that went into it. I found out from the dealership that they were installed at Next Level Automotive, I am going to contact them this week to see if I can solve this problem, otherwise its back to stock for me. :(

Yeah, I bought it at Downtown Mazda, Actually all of the mods were already on the car when I bought it.

I try to as much as I can, but sometimes its hard, considering I am doing most of my driving in the city, 90/10.

question, how much did you guys lower your car? I was thinking about it next spring but I am a little worred about that too. With the shitty roads in this province id hate to damage the car. So I have starting to wonder if I should bother with this mod. I love the look, but am worried about what could happen along with the rough ride I may have.

^from what I've seen the Pro-kit is the most moderate drop

if you enjoy the comfort of your stock suspension.. don't drop it

a lowered suspension is not about comfort :chuckle

The Pro-Kit will drop your car by about 1.2", looks great but trying to avoid pot holes rough surfaces and going over speed bumps and railroad tracks like a snail gets annoying after a while, IMO. If you don't mind it and you like the look, I would say go for it. Seems like a lot of people on here have them on and they aren't having any problems with it. I guess I just prefer the comfort over the styling at this point. Perhaps I'll dish out the cash for some coil-overs.

I'm sure you can find a lot of pics of people on pro-kits. I've had mine for a couple months as I said above, I think they've settled. I have about 3.5cm wheel gap left.

Try driving across Steeles from the 404 to Kennedy 15 km/h above maximum. It'll take a whole year's worth of life from your shocks.
