had this problem a while.... anyone else?
I sign onto MSN after coming home at night. I am logged out since I have been logged in on my work laptop, and this is my home desktop. Once I log in I see like 20ppl online instead of the normal 50-60+. I can shoot them a msg, but they never see it, and it eventually comes back as not sent. MSN kicks me out after a minute or two in this state, and signs me back in.... only to go through this again!
It only happens sometimes (>50%)
Sometimes the auto re-signin resolves it
Only on one PC
I have uninstalled/reinstalled/upgraded etc.
I hate MSN

are you behind a firewall at work? I used to have problems before I found a way to get MSN around the corporate firewall.

I had this problem at home maybe just a couple of times but it must be on Microsoft's side because it would eventually work itself out.. this only happened on my home computer and I was using MSN Live at work and at home and both the same/latest versions..

I've been having a similar problem... with my laptop.... I have a mac...so at first I thought that was the issue... as when I'm at my house I have no problem on my wireless network, however when I'm at my gf's house on her wireless network it kickes me off every 10 mins or so... might have to look into the firewall at her house... never even crossed my mind... also Ami... how did you get around your work's firewall??? just curious as alot of things are blocked in the system including MSN

u can use a proxy on msn. or you can try using a different messenger programer.
Are you using the same laptop on your gf's network?
Possible issues: Her router needs a firmware update/The wireless card you are using needs driver/firmware updates.

I have a problem when using Windows Messenger that ill be talking to people and then all of a sudden they just stop talking to me .. so i figured they went afk .. then I found out that they had been msging me and i stoped responding .. etc so clearly neither of us got each others msgs. But neither of us got delivery failed. Very annoying, only happens on my one work computer. Only happens if Outlook Express is open.

Last night I tried logging into my hotmail account and it was taking waaaaaay tooooo long - they're now with VeriSign, so I don't know what's going on there. Gave up and used my Yahoo...
