View Full Version : Immobilizer Light Keeps Flashing

Hey guys,

Need some help here.

I don't know if this has always been the case, but when my keys are NOT in the car, the immobilizer light in my dash keeps flashing. Blinking actually.

It's the little picture of a car with a key inside of it.

I'm not sure if this has always been doing this or not.

It could be my compustar auto starter bypass module not working as well.
Either way could you guys let me know if yours blinks as well when the car is turned off and or/locked?

i have no issues with the install. i think it's working fine now but was told the bypass module could sometimes screw up. earlier today I had it in reservation mode... but it wouldn't start... tried it again now and it's okay... odd...

i just want to make check that light is supposed to flash when the car is
off and the keys are out of the ignition

i've had teh car for a while now but never noticed this flashing light.

im sorry but lockdown is the best for the job
its ur bypass thats messed up and was wired incorectly

mine blinks when my keys arent in my ignition.

dang i never noticed.. i only noticed my blue security light before....
other than that i guess this keeps flashing... seems like a waste of battery lol...

i just edited my post right before u submitted yours lol

my autostart probably didn't work cuz i messed up something during the reservation mode... it's okay now...

either way, just want to see if everyone elses immobilizer light flashes while the car is off

hopefully my bypass module never screws up

dang i never noticed.. i only noticed my blue security light before....
other than that i guess this keeps flashing... seems like a waste of battery lol...

i have to go pull my car into my driveway. i'll let you know if it flashes at all, and when.

yupp, mine was flashing

basically, the immobilzer system allows the engine to start with a key the system recognizes. if someone attempts to start the engine with an unrecognizeable key, the engine will not start, thereby helping to prevent the theft of your vehicle.
the system is disarmed when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position with the correct key. the light will illuminate for 3 seconds and then go out.

yeah same here
mine goes away once the car is turned on there's no problem there.

i'd like to see what other members have to say about this....
i find it odd though nonetheless...

i also have a compustar installed and mine has flashed since day one.
i drive an auto, but i don't think it should make a difference.

mine has always been flashing when my keys aren't in the keyslot by the steering wheel
