View Full Version : how to fiigure out the 2.3 engine?

i saw some mazda3 with a "2.3" label on thier body(side or back). but my 2007 GT sport doesnt have it. do you guys know how to figure out the engine is 2.3 or 2.0?

Hatches all come in 2.3L I believe.

All Sports are 2.3 and all Sedan GT's are 2.3 as well.

that all what i already know from the website and the browser. but the question is i can't see any label on the engine or somewhere else saying the car is equiped with a 2.3 engine.

So? Its a hatch, it has the 2.3L.

lol there is no "label" anywhere. If you really want go ask the dealer and he'll assure you and you can even get your own 2.3 badge lol

Check the 8th digit in the VIN, it will either be a "3" of an "F"

F = 2.0L
3 = 2.3L

Simply, if you have a sedan GS/GX you have the 2.0L anything else you've got the 2.3L.

Why are you asking if you know its on the website? Did the Biz's VIN reference answer your question???

I believe its only the American models that have the 2.3 badge on them (on the front doors).

I've seen the Canadian versions of the 2005 car with the same badge on them. There's a guy in our office who drives a silver 2005 hatch. Got it from the dealer with the badge already on it.

i've only seen the badge on models before the 2006 version, haven't seen it after

From reading the site for sometime you will learn that the dealers were putting them 06's for a while but then they stop giving them out.

the 2.3 on the door was only put on the 2004 gt edition after 2004 the stoped putting it on the doors thats why you dont have the 2.3 on the door lol
