I'm sure some of you use rogers, and they are suspected in throttling BT packets.
try this, it proxy your BT connection:
http://torrentfreak.com/bittorrent-over-ssh-071014/
I haven't tried it yet, since Im a work

Doing anything over SSH will be slower, as it just adds a node to your tracert. The technology was designed for single cmds to be exchanged, not files.
But it can be a good alternative for those who are being throttled. Just don't expect it to be like how it used to be 'cause you may not (most likely won't) get it
Thanks for the share, Fuman

I only use torrents for anime / top gear.
I use a rapidshare's paid service due to throttling.

bitsoup.org is where it's at for the latest.
After reading a thread on here about ISPs in the GTA, I switched from Rogers to Teksavvy. Problems solved. With Rogers, everything was fine until I had to upgrade to their latest DOCSIS modem. The new modem uses new IPs that start with 99. Since then, downloads were fine, but total upload speed wouldn't go above 3kb/s. Teksavvy activated on Saturday, spent some time setting up the new router (2wire from Canada Computers) forwarding ports and BAM - 75kb/s upload.
And, now that I'm on Teksavvy, I can access Demoinoid again! I just tried right now, since my Rogers is still active, and I can't access Demonoid via the Rogers account.

how did you manage to get on Demonoid? I recieved a stupid message.
"We received a letter from a lawyer represeting the CRIA, they were threatening with legal action and We need to start blocking Canadian traffic because of this. If you reside in Canada, that is the reason you are being redirected to this message. Thanks for your understanding, and sorry for any inconvenience."

I don't know why, but I can get on the demoinoid website with Teksavvy, but not Rogers. Try demoinoid.cc as well.

Seriously guys. If you're being throttled, or if you're on Rogers period, download the latest utorrent (in fact the latest ..10? versions support it)
once downloaded, choose the option under connections? in the options menu to FORCE encrypted connections. But keep the box checked for legacy connections. Choose a port in the 40k range for fun. Randomize it.
I've NEVER had a problem like that.
Without the forced setting, I get nothing. So it definately works.

Ya, i know its a ISP. I usually sign up for a different ISP when on campus cause I hate Residence Internet (or REZnet @ waterloo) ---- REZnet blocked my access too only for torrents .

I had encrypted forced, and everything worked fine with the old Terayon modem. As soon as I switched to the new modem a few weeks ago, no more uploads above 3kb/s. Even before that, I could only get 55kb/s upload with Rogers. I am getting 75 with Teksavvy.

I'm in Waterloo. Get Teksavvy. $32 or $33 a month for unlimited. Buy the 2wire modem/router from Canada Computers for $20 (refurbished).
