What does everybody think of Radioheads latest album? I thought everything about it was brilliant! First of all and most importantly, the music is amazing. In my opinion In Rainbows is much better than the last couple of albums. They also by passed the major record corporation by releasing the album independently for download on their web site. And best of all, you can download it for whatever price you want to pay! No more need to pirate music if you can't afford the full price! I think Radiohead have just revolutionized the record industry, any comments ...

Radioheads idea is very similar to what Prince did in England where he gave away free copies of his CD with the London Times news paper. These guys have finally acknowledged where their true income comes from.

Artists make their money nowadays from concerts and tours. The record companies make money from the CDs. Gone are the days where artists would tour to support their record sales and in turn make some money. The money is now in the touring. The Rolling Stones made $410 million touring last year. The artists know this and when they negotiate their contracts with record companies they practically give up any rights to the CD sales. The record companies are left to scramble to market the CD's in the hopes of getting some money from the deal.

It's a sign of the times. How long before artists realize that they don't need the record companies any longer. Hell....you don't need a record company to release a single. The internet is free to all! I think you'll start to see the Record Companies redefine their roles in the Music Industry to make themselves more relevant.

P.S. RadioHead Rules.

Hmm.....the songs are still growing for me.....they haven't really registered anything yet......I have a feeling that this album will need more time for me to develop appreciation for it.

I like 15 Step, Body Snatchers and All I Need.

I did not pay and I'm a big Radiohead fan. Some may call it BS but I did not pay mainly for 2 reasons.
1) I've purchased many many Radiohead concert tix (at one point I even bought one extra...long story), albums and memorabilia.
2) I plan on buying the DiscBox once it comes out (although it's gonna be f'in expensive).

I paid $2.55 for the download. I am planning to also buy the Discbox because of the second CD mainly.
