I got a quote from Speedtech for a new set of pro kits - $420 install included. I searched around, and this seems like a fair price.

Do you guys agree?

After lots of searching, I've decided to lower my car. Although it's only a few months old, the only thing holding me back was that insurance might be canceled should I ever be caught with them.

I think it is a fair price. I paid $325 for my prokits + $350 for an install. Yes... I know I know... a little high. I paid a premium to get them installed that day.

Go for it. That price is VERY GOOD!

325+350 OMFG!!!!!!!

also $420 isn't a good price, get the springs from SSG and install it at Street Performance would be cheaper for sure

I saw at Sears the Pro Kits for the Mustang were only $250. I thought they might be more expensive for the 3. But that doesn't make much sense.

One stop to go pay and drive away 2 hours later with a prokit installed :)

LOL!!!! no idea Sears carries springs too

What's SSG?

SSG=Supershyguy aka Peter from Nextmod, one of the sponsor on this forum, he ran a groupbuy on Prokit for only $260, but I'm not sure he still have this price or not, also installation only costs $100 at Street Performance, and SP is one of the top notch shop I've taken my car to.

Ha... No not rich. Say at max it is $25 to $75 bucks more than another install place... that is next to nothing. If $75 bucks breaks the bank... one shouldn't be upgrading car parts.

I'd say you paid a huge premium, as I bought my prokits one day had them installed the next for the grand total of $360...that's a $315 dollar difference....ouch!!
That's enough savings to get my MScai, side markers, stubby......but hey, your car still looks sweet B.:)

im at Lester B. Pearson high school in Burlington.
IF you are interested, you will have to let me know. cuz we will need a hoist for probably 2 classes.
my classes are 8-11ish every weekday. we can always do the front one day, and the back the next. (the rears are a piece of cake, btw).
so if we rush it, we could probably do all 4 corners in one class...
but i'd have to talk to my teacher first....

p.s. i installed my sportlines myself too, but for some reason my rear springs hit each other, and cause a clunking noise when i go over bumps.
we also installed Prokits on my friend's jetta, and he has had no problems with them at all since we isntalled them a few months ago.

8-11 PM or AM?

I work full time, can't make it if it's in the AM.

the rears are extremely easy. im sure i could do them in my driveway.

the fronts tho, you will need a spring compressor. but im sure you could remove ur struts, take them to a shop, and have them isntalled for a decent price, seeing how it'll be about 30 minutes of work if that.

I picked them up at a local parts store here in Ottawa which is very performance friendly for $260. I then had a very friendly local forum member with a beautiful garage/home/car/wife install mine for free. Yes. I'm sucking up. He did a great job. ;)

I rented a spring compressor for free from Canadian tire. Basically you just put the deposit down on it, and get it back if you return it the next day, which I did.

sweet, what type of drop are people getting on these springs and are you guys using camber links after?

crazycanuck

Pro kits are 1.5-2.0 depending on the weight of your car.

dentinger
10-24-2007, 03:40 PM
wrong!
prokits are a mild drop. i believe its around 1.1 all around, according to Eibach
sportlines are (IIRC) 1.8 all around.

crazycanuck
10-24-2007, 03:46 PM
Are you sure? I could've sworn it was more. Maybe a bit wishful thinking on my part. But from what I hear, even an 1 inch drop is visually noticeable.

Nicker, check this thread for more info.
