Well, like the topic says I just joined today. I also just put a finance on a brand new 2008 Mazdaspeed3 from Scarboro Mazda. I'm really excited about this car, if all goes well I will pick it up Tuesday after work. I opted for the 6 year finance, and also got the 6 year 160,000km "bumper to bumper" extended warranty. Thought I may as well protect myself while I'm still paying for it.

The speed3 felt very solid when taking the driving test, and is a lot easier to drive than I thought it would be. This is my first brand new car. The first car I ever owned was a 94 Ford Probe GT with the 2.5 V6 and 5 speed. Didn't last too long, put $8000 into it in 4 months and it still broke down everywhere. For about 10 months now I've been driving my dad's 06 Yaris RS. While great on gas and fun to surprise people by whipping around corners, the 1.5L is very lacking in power and it is auto...all autos feel like marshmallows to me.

So here I am, almost $40,000 in the hole after taxes and all, but I have an awesome car! I know I won't be disappointed.

Forgot to mention, the one I bought is in true red.

Congrats, no pictures? But for $40,000 I would have taken the BMW 1 series (3 door), if it is going to cost $35,000 like the rumors say.

Edit: I just discovered they have this smiley here :chuckle

for 40g's i would've bought a MK5 GTI across the border for $23,000 and used the rest for a down payment on a house

No pictures because I said I'll pick it up Tuesday if all goes right. Two days till Tuesday. I will defenetly post pictures as soon as I get it. And it will be $40k after the 6 year finance is over...I don't have really any money at the moment, thats why I had to get $0 down. I'm even taking back my $900 deposit.

Because I wanted an 08.

Plus, many times there are problems with the first year of a new model, and usually most issues are fixed on the second year.

well mazda actually did make some changes to the later builds in the 07 year.... 4 grand would pay for the warranty to 160,000 and give you 2k in mod money lol but whatever floats your boat.

welcome to the club, congrats.... post pics when you pick it up

I was at Scarboro mazda on tuesday night to look at buying the CX9, When
I was told that the red speed 3 was sold and had just been picked up. Wondering if that was you?

Yup, that was me! I bought the only red one on their lot, and was still the only red one there when I took her home.

Sorry it took so long to get pictures up. This week was really busy for me. I put 1100kms on the MS3 since I got it Tuesday night. Took it to Niagara falls with my parents today. Fun trip.

Nice! I guess if you really wanted red, then you didn't have much choice in the year but really, that's a lot of cheddar extra over the 07!

The 08's are identical so far as I know to the 07's. Anyone know of any differences?

Really? Interesting. Anyone know what's involved in porting that back? Just getting the switches, or is there more to it? :)

Probably should be another thread... :chuckle

Yea, it is my only car and only way to work and back.

I don't consider TTC a way to work, always full and busy with smelly people and wayyy too slow.
