I want to buy OEM part # "0000-8C-Z04"

It is an auto Dimming compas mirror with home link and rain sencors.

My question is, will this fit my 2006 Mazda3i ? (Its the 2.0L model and i have added the sport package which one of the features is a rain sencing wiper which i already have on this model, just want that home link auto-dim one)...

Anyone know for a fact if that part # will fit my car? I dont see why niot just want to be 100%...

I called mazda and they said that product code is for the GX model. But it also comes with the Mazda factory instal kit for the pruduct in question.. I cant see why it wouldnt work. I just want confirmation that it can for sure be hooked in with no problems....

UPDATE: Just confirmed part # with mazda, if you have the install kit to go with it part 0000-8C-L06, your good to go for any of the models of mazda3 for the given year. Looking forward to this little upgarde!

Here's a little parts info:

Auto-dimming mirror with compass only (models with rain sensor)
0000-8C-Z03

Auto-dimming mirror with compass only (models without rain sensor)
0000-8C-Z01

Auto-dimming mirror with compass and Homelink (models with rain sensor)
0000-8C-Z04

Auto-dimming mirror with compass and Homelink (models without rain sensor)
0000-8C-Z02

All of these applications require an install kit at an additional cost.

NOW I am getting the "z04" .. just because I can get it at the same price as the one without the homelink.... now what EXACTLY is homelink and what does it do?

You don't know what Homelink is?? That's a lot of money to spend on something when you don't know what it does. Google it man. You'll find it.

Homelink is essentially a programmable garage door opener.

Not really im getting it new.. with the install kit.. for 160.. still in box... off a friend in the USA... same price as the one new with no homelink so i thought.. sure why not, just an extra feature to have for no extra cost to because iof the deal i can get on the one with homelink...

i have one with homelink auto dimm, temp and compass and i only paid roughly about 200$ off of ebay
in the instructions it will say to have one wire on constant power and one wire on switched power make sure to put BOTH power wires on SWITCHED power because if you leave the oneon constant then you will be able to open/close your garages when the car is off and that is oviously no good

Wow that's a dumb design.

This isn't dumb if you park in your garage.

Generally, you'd want to open the door before starting the car, though I suppose you could put the car in accessory mode, open the door, then start the car, but that seems annoying.

Yes it is dumb. It's dumb to think that everyone who parks in a garage always parks there car there. Sometimes people park in the driveway for whatever reason. Having a working garage remote in the car is like having keys to your garage sitting in the seat.

i much rather be ablke to open my garage only when the key is in the ignition like skarbro said its like leaving keys to your house in the car while being parked outside. security comes before comfort
