Looks like a 4X4 stock....but there is potential there to look better.

Bet it loses the side skirts, fogs and spoiler.

And WTF are those indentations on the rear bumper?

Dimples , the car is smiling at you .

Both are ugly, sorry toyota --- on second thought, the front of the corolla is decent

I don't think I've ever seen a Corolla XRs on the road, only S. It's pretty rare (at least where I am). I doubt I'll see any more of these either.

the corolla looks pretty good.. front end looks a little too much like the Aero package Yaris but not too shabby, the Matrix looks good too just needs to be lower looks like a cute ute or one of the x-overs cuz of its height. The 2 sema cars are nice!

I've always liked the Matrix for what it is. It's short on power, but there's huge amounts of space in it!

That one looks smaller than the old one though. Hopefully it's just the pic. It was about perfectly sized as it was...

What this car needs is more scoops.

I was talking to my Toyota dealership and they said that the 09 Corollas will look more like the Camry with a few similar features. I love the Camry and that could possbily be my next car when I start a family.

Just did a comparison and found that the new Corrolla is cheaper than the Mazda3 on the highest trim level for both (Corolla: $27,xxx Vs. Mazda3: $31,xxx). Both with similar specs.

Will there be any changes with price/specs with Mazda3 in the near future?

The new Matrix at the auto show had spots to insert cross-bars to form a roof-rack. I believe that's new.

Similar specs? The only Mazda3 for $31k is the MS3, which hardly has "similar specs" to any Corolla.

Meh, 2 scoops and it'll be the "Raisin Bran" of sport compacts.

At least it'll get ya moving (in more ways than one):chuckle

Just make sure you check the headroom in the Camry. My Dad's had 4 generations of Camrys and my head rubs the ceiling on all of them

The 2009 Matrix upgraded engine has similar hp to a regular Mazda3... the Matrix also has an awd version but only mated to a 4 spd (not 5!) automatic tranny ... too bad... the moded Matrix looks nice...

On the website it shows that the Mazda3 is $31,xxx for a GT (after all fees, taxes)

My GT sport wasn't any where near that price. Of course, I didn't get the luxury package and I got a manual...

1 thing they both SERIOUSLY need is a lower suspension you can build a house in that wheel gap

An old friend of mine had a Sentra SpecV, and a buddy now has a G35, both in the dealership lots. I wont touch Nissan. Go for the Matrix man ;) I like the new styling, which is surprising since I HATED the old style.

Actually both Matrix and Corolla with 2.4L drive niiiice :) Have decent power and SC is also available from TRD... There is plenty of head and leg room in both (I am 6'3")... New add on is telescopic steering wheel so can comfortably sit back and enjoy...
