So I was wondering, what exactly is a blow off valve and what exactly does it do? What are the pros and cons of installing one on the speed3? Any problems at all with running a BOV? Any performance gain at all, or does it just make a lot of noise? Found one for sale using a basic google search...

This should help you little bit understanding turbo engines also the difference between BPV/VTA BOVs.

Thanks for the link! Yea, sticking with the stock bypass valve sounds like the best thing to do.

Got 3 black ones coming in, 2 already talked for..... Firm pricing I'll know once D&T is figured out, but should be right around exchange rate.

Now that the 'speed3 is fully broken in if I have my windows open I can hear the hissing when I hit the gas hard below 3000rpm...then a low releasing of pressurized air sound when I shift at 3k rpm. Sounds alright, but I've always loved the loud turbo sounds. Any way to amp up the sound without damaging the engine like a BOV might?
