Hi, has anyone switch back to stock airbox from CAI? What are the reasons?

Well two that I can think of at the moment is hydrolocking, and bringing it back to the dealer for warranty work. Not sure how many people have actually done so for those reasons. I'm sure putting the stock airbox back is a big pain in the ass, and may not be worth it.

The most ignored reason of all is that just about all insurance companies will drop you and/or deny claims if you have an aftermarket intake installed.
I switched back. I was going back in for electrical work that the dealership thought was related to my MAF. Turned out it was a broken wire from the computer. My car was off warranty. I switched back because I have been in a few times and I was always told it was the CAI. This time I wanted to rule out the CAI as a problem. Sure enough it wasn't (this time... it may have been the problem before). I was getting tired of cleaning the MAF. It was more trouble than it was worth. For me atleast. Took 20 mins to take it back out. Took me almost and hour and a half to refit the stock air box. Not as hard as you think... but make sure you have socket extensions. Will save you a few scuffed knuckles. :)

I also switched back about a 3 weeks ago. Went to have my clutch checked out and didn't want any problems with it for the winter. Took me about the same amount of time as b, around 1.5-2 hours. not as big of a deal as i thought. anybody have any problems with their CAI in the winter? maybe i'll put mine back on...

Do I need to disconnect the battery before doing this?

You will need 4 cold beers tho.

Hey those setup looks pretty good, like the old days people running their own CAI in their Civic, and one of my buddy had it setup like this, but I got 2 questions here. First, at the end of the tube, it is pointed to the vent where water might get in, and is it running with a filter? Second, I don't quite understand when he said "I also removed the after-filter intake resonator and capped it off. ", what's the purpose of doing these? Sorry, don't have time to go to all the pages. Thanks.
