all depends on what type you get but I was quoted for a good viper (forget now which model) $450.00 installed. Now that is in the London area.

dont bother with the noname bottom end stuff because you will have more problems and those alarms never work right. Go with a compustar they are worth the money. Viper is also good but if you have a standard car stay away from it. bad experience

what are people useing for alarms? I have heard good about compustar too. I have a 5 spd and don't want the autostart. I just want a good alarm.

What are some things to consider?

what models do you guys have? Also I have been reading that the ones with the 3 k range arn't worth the money. 1 k is good enough.

1k range Compustar. Good experience with it so far. Make sure that you use someone who's familiar with the Mazda 3 having OEM alarm and ignition immobilizers.

compustar is awesome... when i first bought it i hated it since the controls were a little bit complicated, but after you learn them it's too sick

lockdown is one of the sponsers on the forum, definitly talk to them if you're interested in an alarm system

I was thinking of using them but I am in London so would have to see if I could set up a install while I wait or somting on a saturday. How long does the install take...and is there anything around lockdown to do, any malls etc?

i think its about a 3-5 hour job... dont really remember... if you're drivin all the way from london and you dont want to chill at the shop with them, scarbourough towne centre is a 5 minute drive away if you want to cab it or even take the bus, you just go south on the street you got off the highway on which is mccowen

Lockdown took 5 hours to install alarm/starter and deck. so definately less than that if its just for the alarm. Don't forget to bring your spare key also if you are going to get the starter as well.

about 300$ for the pro for the alarm itself but there is many different options you dont have to buy a 2 way paging alarm
