Ok, so when I got the car used it only had one key......no key for the trunk.
With all the ice and snow over the holiday.....I thought it had just frozen....and it probably was.....
pulling the trunk release......seems to be moving the mechanism in the trunk........but its not popping open......so it seems like the dam thing is broken.....or stuck....or jammed.
Any ideas how I might be able to get it open again? Other than going to the dealer?
Any idea how to pop this POS open and get it working again.....
I figure the mechanism is just in some wierd position....and with a little help it should pop open.......but its definitely latched closed......and cannot be pulled open.
TIA

Isn't there a safety popper latch on the inside of the trunk? You could try popping it from in there.

check the lock switch on the inside of the trunk lid. If that is locked, the trunk will not pop.

Since I haven't had my car all that long.....I haven't seen either of these two things.
Where are they physically located?
So there is a lock switch on the inside of the lid? It can be operated by hand?
Thanks.

The lock is physically located on the inside of the trunk lid. After you open the trunk, look on the lid, it will be the only item not covered by fabric.

or drop by the dealership, Joe or I will show you.
See, I got the same thing with my 05 Sedan. I thought that was it. I was expecting, Once I use my trunk release, that my trunk will pop open, But it turns out, that I have to literally go,and pull it up, after it's been released... But I read the commments. I guess I have to check out for that trunk lock.
Thanks!

if it's not the lock thats the issue, the wire on the trunk release, they have a habit of either breaking or stretching, if you do get it to open grease the hell out of the latch... and mechanism, alot of people don't maintain it. May sound like a stupid question... but I thought the key opens the doors, trunk and the ignition?? didn't know the cars came with a valet key.......

didn't know the cars came with a valet key.......
There is no valet key, but more of a valet feature for the Sedans.
Check your owners manual, in an 08 owners manual it is on 3-16 under "Trunk Security"

Ok, thanks guys....got it open.
There is a unlock mechanism on the lid like you guys mentioned.
The trunk release works now too......
The mechanism must have just been in a wierd state when it was frozen shut.
Thanks again!
