View Full Version : Good Independant Ticket Fighter?
So I was on Hwy 26 heading to Blue Mtn this past Saturday. Some cars going the limit in front of me (three total) and when I saw the opportunity, I safely gunned it to pass them.
Oncoming traffic was a very safe distance ahead. Noticed OPP cruiser leading. Passed, watched him in my rear-view, he pulls over and does a U-turn. Cherries go on.
WTF?
I start contemplating turning into a side road and hiding but it's daylight and my Winning Blue would easily be spotted. Two minutes later I see him coming towards me from behind. I pull over. He doesn't pass me. :(
I don't think there exists such technology but he somehow clocks me going 120km/h in the 80 zone. Note he also very quickly handed me the ticket, says "have a good day," and goes back to his cruiser.
Easily fightable since he pretty much pulled the 120 out of his arse.
Any suggestions for good, independant ticket fighter? Please and thank you!
Note I shut off engine when pulled over. No hassles when cops question me.

Warren keep in mind they have rolling radar now, so he could have clocked you easily. If you want to fight it, I'd recommend Ontario Traffic Tickets. They did the job for me, I was impressed.

booooo that sucks dude!! I always do my best not to pass on hwy26... it always seems no matter where you are on it.. that the OPP come out of nowhere!!! I was with my buddy a few months back just before they released the "Street Racing" law, now I don't condone speeding and in fact was fast asleep in his passenger seat till I heard the cherries, to find out he's doing 140 in an 80... talk about a pylon!! the officer was nice at least and lessened it to 120 in an 80... but really I do my best to behave along that stretch!

If you've never been through this traffic ticket fight stuff before, just remember, the ticket fighters can make it so that you don't have to pay for the offence and no points...BUT the ticket record will always stay! They cannot make the ticket disappear.
Thanks for the responses. Unfortunately this won't be my first call or request to a ticket fighter. :S
Since I'm in Police Foundations. Our profs are the best of the best, Peel, Waterloo, Metro, Kingston, Hamiliton, all police officers, We have them all.
And when it comes to Radar, it's very easily the most fought one on earth, simply because, You can win it.
Note: See what it says on the back of the ticket, It should be included, Weather, which highway, how fast u were going, and look into what he quotes u for.
If you say that, he was driving the opposite lane of u, chances are u can win it.
An officer is supposed to be stopped, having a clear view of u, No bends or bridges, that instantly gets thrown out in court,
Forgot to mention. If it was raining that day, than the officer is ****ed, simply because they can't do radar in the rain, since the rain divereses the laser, which doesn't give it an accurate reading.
I'd say fight it, you got nothing to lose.

that sux bro!
they can clock you if they are moving, even if they are moving towards you, you could argue the doppler effect but the speed of light is much faster than the speed of the car . . and hence cannot cause the radar to make a mistake.. (i got a ticket and wanted to argue this fact, but i lost!)
best of luck with the court man!
Thanks guys.
New question; what's with the crazy cost differences between different organizations???
First org; $275 + gst
Second; $400 + gst
Third; $350 + gst
Thanks...

You pay for experience.
I also found that some say you don't pay if they don't win... but they consider a win ANY reduction in the charge; less points, less fine etc..

I got a speeding ticket today...was travelling north on Midland Ave, north of Sheppard. Everybody was getting pulled over for speeding. I was going 68km/hr and didn't realize the road was a 50km/hr zone. This is my first speeding ticket and the fine is for $60. I'm fine w/ paying the fine, but the cop said there may be demerit points involved. How do I check to make sure I'm not dinged demerit points? Since this is my first offense, do I need to go w/ a ticket fighter? Or can I just do the trial option and hope that they reduce the charge so there is no demerit points?
As well, I got dinged for having tinted plate covers...$110 ouch. Should I try to fight this? Play dumb, and say I didn't know because you see lots of cars with them, and since CT is selling them, I had no idea they were illegal.
Any advice is appreciated.

If you were really going 68 the cop probably knocked it down to 65 or less. If the fine was only $60 I think you got dinged for about 10 over, but check the ticket to be sure.
Even if you did get hit with some points, what matters to you insurance company is that you got the ticket at all. So depending on your age and driving history you may want to fight it or let it go. Of course, if letting the easy to fight one slide and then getting nailed with one you can't later on is a possibility, so you need to keep that in mind too...
0 to 15 over: no points
16 to 29 over: 3 points

Thanks for the info. and link. The offense section says "Speeding, 68km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone". The Total Payable field says $60.00
