+1.....I switched back to Eurolites.

One of my bulbs burnt out but BOTH had expanded like this. Would not recommend!!!!

Eurolites from lockdown with a year warrantee are the best, and I'm gonna throw on some lamin-x.

The scary thing is that the one on the right was still working !!

How long have you've had the Eurolites in your car? BTW your sig still says Noykas :chuckle

lol, thx gotta change that.

My first set (not from Lockdown) lasted on 3 months.

This set has been in for about 2 months. But lockdown has the lifetime warantee. I've got lamin-x to install as well, so it'll be just as yellow as the nokya's.

That's messed up!! I have used Eurolites before and had some last for 2 months and other last for 2 years. So it will just depend really. I would just stay with your ugly stock bulbs for the time being. :gone

ha ha. Here are mine. I took them out of the car about a year ago after everyone warned me about bubbling. I took one out to take a look and sure enough...

http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p101/planetxerox/IMG_9644_Edit_800.jpg

But in all fairness, these (mine at least) were Stage II 80W where the stockers are 50 or 55W so they will run very hot. I'm currently running Excelite 55W (yellow for now). So far so good. But after these burn out, it's either back to stockers or HID fogs (probably 6000K).

To be perfectly honest, I've used Nokya, Eurolite, the brand that Tires23 sell, etc.... and have never had any problems with those kind of aftermarket bulbs. I know that they are not the same level as HID's, but I do feel that they look better then stock.

Maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones, but never had a problem dating back 12 years.....

I've heard all the horror stories, but so far so good for me :)

Honestly take em out and return them. A lot of us are lucky that they just burnt out but there has been plenty of horror stories of fried wires and such. I always thought, meh it'll be alright and now I've finally seen (owning a pair myself) how dangerous these are. Don't use nokya's/

Are you guys touching the glass at all while installing them? Finger prints can cause an area to bubble because somehow it attracts more heat.

yearoftherat
01-31-2008, 08:44 AM
Nope...if i did, i used an alcohol wipe to clean any finger prints/grease off the bulb before installed

3GFX
01-31-2008, 09:53 PM
Same, I'm always wicked careful. It's like playing operation.

(Side note: Touching the glass leaves the oil from your hands on the bulb causing one side (where ever you touched) to heat more rapidly and to a higher temperature causeing the bulb to prematurely burn out)

Okay, so reading this and desiding NOT to get Noyka bulbs, what should I order than? Luminic's? Eurolite's?

the off yellow mix of nightstars plus lamin-x is getting dull.

I've used Eurolites in the past and they don't exactly last long, the current set of eurolites are holding now at about 3-4 months ish. I payed a little extra and got the ones from lockdown. They offer a year warantee. You can't go wrong with that.

I used Excelite 55W (yellow). It lasted me about 4~5 months (these were used as DRL fogs).

So I've gone through Nokya and Excelite. That's it for me. Back to stock right now and next will be HID.

If you get aftermaket bulbs, get one with warranty so that atleast you guarantee your investment for however long the warranty is. But even with replacement warranty you'll eventually get fed-up with having the change the bulbs - especially if it blows in Winter (like mine did).

I know they are a sponsor on the MZ3 forum. Haven't heard anything good/bad about them but the price is def more than the usual ones other members have been using.

There's guys using Mtecs but haven't heard much either.
